This CD took a while to arrive, but it was worth waiting for. I originally heard the piece on the radio - a friend phoned and said "you have to turn the radio on, NOW!" I had never heard the work or heard OF it before, and I found it so stunning I had to find a way of purchasing the music to listen to again.
I love it that the chorus manages to sound at times nasty, or 'agricultural', depending on the mood of the music.
I especially love the bass and soprano soloists on this recording.
If I had one criticism, it would be that I don't know WHICH soprano or sopranos are singing on which tracks - they are just listed as a group. How do I work out which voice belongs to whom - and therefore which person's recordings to buy more of?
Anyhow, it's lovely, and I would actually like to make a project of assembling the voices to perform it.
