You don't have to speak Italian - Ferro is Fantastico,
By
This review is from: Rosso Relativo (Audio CD)
Man, this guy puts Eros on hold. I haven't heard a European pop singer/writer/producer this exciting since the days of early Claudio Baglioni and Mango. Blending R&B, hip-hop and Carribean rhythms, Ferro delivers an almost non-stop parade of solid, passionate pop songs. True, the English entries aren't as strong as the Italian, but they're not fodder, either. "Imbranado" is one of the most searing, sexy things I've heard in ages.I even put this one on for a room full of rowdy Southern rednecks and they were tapping and grooving. That's how well-conceived and universal this great CD sounds. Thrilled I discovered this talented guy. Besides, I'd kind of tired of Mango, Rammazzotti and Baglioni from years of over exposure, and I needed a voice of the mellinium. Tiziano's a darn good start!

XVERSO - TZN's New Single is out!,
By SamDXB (UAE) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rosso Relativo (Audio CD)
TZN deserves 5 stars simply because he made the Italian music scene breathe some fresh air!!He succeeded where others failed miserably - singing modern R&B "Made in Italy". He wrote all his songs and, being only 23 years old, I think that's quite an achievement! Btw... his new single is out now!!! PS: It seems that TZN is quite popular in my part of the world! : )

Tiziano, un ragazzo innamorato perso -- e che bello essere innamorato!,
By
This review is from: Rosso Relativo (Audio CD)
Tiziano is very entertaining. As I've remarked of other Italian pop artists I've reviewed, the music is accessible and good for the study of Italian, i.e. for listening comprehension, as the vocal style is generally very clear. And amusing. My musical taste is eclectic, but I generally love the best of any genre (e.g. Jimi Hendrix is an all-time favorite). Ferro is very talented, but on at least one song (I believe on this album) the tune is reminiscent of Britney Spears (Uffa!) and yet is nonetheless enjoyable. My favorite songs on this album are "Imbranato" (Loser; the Spanish-language version is the theme song for a popular soap opera), and "Boom boom" with it's very simple, yet very rousing English-language chorus (all songs here are sung primarily in Italian). I think even the cynical will be charmed. The only song I don't really care for is the gospel-style "Soul-dier" (i.e. soldier of the soul -- tee hee). I think it's sometimes beneficial to express some reservations in amazon "reviews" -- effusive praise always invites skepticism. Truth be told, I am insanely envious of anyone who can sing, 'cuz I sound like a camel clearing its throat. Tiziano is a gifted singer-songwriter, and I believe he'll improve with each release. If your musical tastes include mainstream pop, take a risk and purchase a CD by this talented young recording artist. It's not as if I'm an expert on Roman genealogy -- but when I look at Tiziano's cover photo on "Centoundici" I feel that I'm seeing a face that reaches back millennia, and it amuses me to think of his musical style in contrast to that of what his ancestors might have enjoyed.
Tiziano's latest CD, NESSUNO E' SOLO, was released in 2006 and is his best to date.

He's great, but don't compare him to Eros,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rosso Relativo (Audio CD)
This is a great CD. The songs are excellent and true R&B with bass and soul. However, to those saying he's better than Eros, how can you compare? It's like comparing R. Kelly (Tiziano) to John Mayer (Eros). You just can't. Buy it if you like R&B, but don't buy it if you like Eros. It might not be the style you're looking for.

Tiziano Ferro's "Rosso Relativo" Is Bellissimo,

This is my first album by Tiziano Ferro, and it has become one of my favorite Italian CDs. Most of the songs on "Rosso Relativo" are catchy, energetic and seductive. This CD's style is R&B mixed with pop music, which Ferro executes nearly perfectly. Ferro's voice is a bit deep and rough, but it is a good thing in my view. This separates him from many of the other pop artists coming out of Italy.
I highly recommend this album to those who enjoy popular Italian music. "Rosso Relativo" is a must-buy. Highlights: Le Cose Che Non Dici - Catchy, upbeat. Great way to start out the album. Rosso Relativo - My favorite track and one of the catchiest and fun. Perdono - Fast-paced with a bit of groaning added in. Primavera Non E' - Rap-based track. Unique and interesting.

Wonderful overall! I was pleasantly surprised with this CD, my first by him. Tiziano's voice is very clear and his songs are easy to follow if you understand some Italian. Of course he has created new albums and will continue to mature in his style of music, but this CD is a great first buy if you are just starting to learn about him!

Excelent new Italian music!,

This is a must-own CD! Tiziano Ferro is one of the best italian singers-songwriters nowadays. His music is a mixture of pop, ballads and r&b, but he also uses opera and even gospel! Other good songs (despite of his first 3 singles) are: "Il Bimbo Dentro", nice opera-kinda song with a sad/reflexing lyric (for those who understands italian), "L'Olimpiade", "Le Cose Che Non Dici", and "Mai Nata"... una produzione molto buona!

Hip music and top Italian MTV video last fall when I visited Italy. I still listen to this weekly and though I don't speak Italian, it lifts my spirits every time! His 2 english songs are not as good, the Soldier song is just silly. Great variety of music, fast and also a bit slower and romantic.
