Outstanding analysis . . . . but needs editorial help,

This review is from: Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection (Paperback)
This is the third (and so far, the best) book I've purchased and read from Joseph P. Farrell, and I would unequivocally rate the content and analysis at five stars. I won't rehash a synopsis of the book as that's available in the online description, but I will state that the primary strengths of this book are: 1.) its use of the same original source materials used by those favoring an ET-Hypothesis for the Roswell event as well as by those in the "Skeptic" camp; 2.) an extremely well organized outline of presentation mapped out in the book's table of contents and steadily unveiled in like manner throughout the text of the book. (The outline alone could serve as an excellent example for undergraduate or post-graduate students seeking a model for a well-presented thesis!); 3.) a conversational writing style that is easily understandable and that steadily advances the author's arguments in an enjoyable, "let's-think-our-way-through-the-facts"-type manner; and 4.) just enough photographs and illustrations to help the reader understand "who's who" and to visually grasp the author's points. Furthermore, the book is very well documented through referential and explanatory footnotes - easily enabling the reader to check the accuracy of the citations should he/she so choose. I'm presently about a quarter of the way through the book, and it is definitely a page-turner that will hold your attention and keep you up late reading "just a few more pages" before it dawns on you that you'd best put it down for the night and get rested for the workday tomorrow.
My only complaint about the book is the editing - or should I say, lack of thorough editing - that has allowed too many typos to find their way into the published version, and in one instance, the omission of an entire section of a long citation from an outside source. This is the fault of the publisher, and a scan of reviews of other books published by this company will readily show this is not an isolated problem. I hope someone from Adventures Unlimited Press who's in a position of responsibility reads this review (as well as those written by others highlighting this same problem) and resolves to correct this problem. Dr. Farrell has written far too important a book as to have its content somewhat marginalized through shoddy editing. C'mon folks, it's not rocket science; hire someone who knows how to both spell and validate the thoroughness/alignment of footnotes with citations to actually READ the product before you put it out for sale! Do I agree with Dr. Farrell's ultimate conclusion? To an extent perhaps; it's just too early to tell. I will readily say that I'm not in the camp of the "Skeptics", but I will also note that many in the "Extraterrestrial origins" camp often make significant leaps in logic, and appear to want to let their paradigm interpret the evidence, instead of letting the evidence frame their paradigm. At this point in the book, I would find myself somewhere between Dr. Farrell's view (that a post-war, extra-territorial Nazi presence in South America is responsible for what crashed in Roswell); those that state it's extra-terrestrial in origin; and those that posit an "inter-dimensional" perspective. But I will reserve final judgment until I've finished reading the entire book. However, regardless of whether or not I change my view as to the ultimate nature of the Roswell event, I will say that as a direct result of what I've read thus far, I've already learned a great deal by "stepping back" - as Dr. Farrell has done - and "re-viewing" the source documents for what they SAY/DON'T SAY ON THEIR OWN (vs. what the two currently prevailing perspectives interpret them to say), and I believe anyone interested in this incident would find this to be true as well. Meticulously researched; cogently argued; convincingly presented. I strongly recommend this book as a worthy read and addition to your library - whether you're a believer, skeptic, or just someone who's curious as to "what this Roswell thing's all about".

Joseph Farrell is the best researcher out there right now. He creates the lead that the rest of us must follow. This book continues his jaw dropping thesis concerning advanced German technology and the purposeful cover-up of these extraordinary advances. The book pounds the last nails into the coffin of the entire alien invasion cover story and reveals the truth that has been in front of us for almost 70 years. He also reveals the cynical way that the alien cover story has been used by well-known UFO researchers who must have seen the truth at some point in their investigations - but they chose to ignore it.
Farrell won't make any friends with this book - outside those of us who want the truth. Thanks Joseph. Can't wait until the next book!

I was blown away by the thesis and scholarship in this massive book! The arguments and references are air tight, and is by far the best work I have ever seen on a topic with so many twists, turns and dead ends! You will not be disappointed -- Farrell leads you by the hand through all the possible permutations to a stunning conclusion! Buy it!

Joseph Farrell has succeeded in explaining his theory that the Roswell incident may very well been a product of German technology - instead of the long-held belief that the disc was manufactured off-planet. The question remains is whether the 'bodies' were really ET or deformed humans. In this regard, Farrell clearly implies that premise remains an open question.
"Roswell and the Reich" will certainly interest those intrigued with the incredible Nazi technology that was light-years ahead of the so-called advanced technological societies post WWII. It is no wonder why certain American military personnel brought over ardent Nazi scientists ('Operation Paperclip') to develop the space program and covert intelligence programs. Apparently after the death of Roosevelt (who opposed the idea of Nazi scientists in the U.S.), Truman gave his approval - this falls along with the line "Our Germans are better than the Russian Germans". It will be well to remember the Russians also received their fare share of German Nazi scientists. Farrell is a well-educated physicist and writes quite well yet can get quite technical and detailed. Still, the 'lay' person can understand this book even with a minimal science background. Highly recommended for Farrell fans.

This review is from: Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection (Paperback)
Just Excellent, the NAZI's escaped from WW II with the best technology and specifically saucer technology possibly powered by a type of controlled nuclear fusion engine and lost control/crashed/had shot down one of these crafts near Roswell!?! Explains EVERYTHING about the coverup!!!! Starts to fill in the blanks for many other things as well; Can you say Admiral Byrd, James Forestal and Operation Highjump and let's not even go to the Torbitt document, those implications and more! Read an awful lot from Dr. Farrell prior to this book and look forward to many more. I just wish he would get someone to edit the books properly, takes away from the credibility a little bit, other than that excellent! Want someone to ehlep for a/new books editionsor versions? Sorry couldn't resist!

Honestly, I can't say if Dr. Farrell is correct in the "third scenario". I love the guy, he has cuhoonies and is EXTREMELY well referenced and believable. He took the research of Igor Witkowski and Nick Cook (among hundreds of others) to a new height, totally stellar.
This book explores the possibility that what crashed was in fact, postwar NAZI. The only reason it doesn't totally gel with me is that it takes place right there in the Southwestern US where we were no doubt developing our own post-war aerospace and munitions industries (along with..OIL). It always seemed reasonable to me, and crystallized in my head that we were just testing something (retrieved from our German buddies, DANKE) and it simply crashed. That said, Dr. Joseph Farrell has indeed made me re-think that scenario quite a bit with this work. He's a wonderful author, his books are like bush-whacking through all the BS. Nothing in any of them that DRAGS on for no reason (like so many confused authors). Get AT the info and make up your own mind with anything by Dr. Farrell.

The Best Book on Roswell -- Ever,
By
This review is from: Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection (Paperback)
It may not be a popular conclusion in the 'community', but after reading 'Roswell and the Reich', I must say it makes the definitive statement thus far on the topic of Roswell. No other writer and no other line of investigation makes such a strong and thorough argument for their theory. This book is the most important book ever written on Roswell.

...a shining diamond, whose only flaws are the occasional typos. The tight thinking and closely argued points reflect the refined consciousness and intellect of a seasoned researcher, super-creative thinker and writer at the top of his game. This was the first book I read by Dr. Farrell; I was so impressed I promptly ordered his 10 other books sold here at Amazon.
[I chose to purchase hard copy so I can share them with others, which is harder to do with digital versions via Kindle, etc.] I found the online audio files of his radio dialogues with GeorgeAnn Hughes of "The Byte Show" in recent years illuminating. Dr. Joseph P. Farrell is a national treasure; if this topic interests you I highly recommend buying and reading this book.

Interesting Alternative Roswell Theory,
By Charles E. Peterson (Farmington, UT USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection (Paperback)
Joseph Farrell reviews the major books that promote or dispute the extraterrestrial hypothesis regarding the incident near Roswell N.M. in July 1947. He finds both sides' evidence and arguments wanting and promotes a "middle ground" theory that an extraordinary, but man-made craft crashed in the New Mexico desert. He finds persuasive arguments that this craft could not of have been American or Soviet and argues for a German craft based on advanced technologies the Nazi's developed and spirited out of Germany before the end of World War II. Those interested in the Roswell incident will find this an interesting read since it surveys all of the "mainstream" theories and presents a detailed argument for an alternative. Be forewarned that the style is to "tell you what you're going to read, then tell you, then tell you what you've read." While I didn't find this annoying because I didn't have to remember details that I had read 50 pages earlier in order to keep up with the current argument, some may find this method of presentation a bit tedious. A final note, other reviewers have correctly noted the fairly numerous "typos" throughout the book. It is unfortunate that this interesting book apparently didn't get the final review it needed to remove most of those problems.

Brilliant, and incomplete,
By
This review is from: Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection (Paperback)
Let us start out pretending that we are from the far future, and this is one of only a few books left on this subject. It might seem quite brilliant and complete. For someone of this time, who is somewhat familiar with the larger body of this story, it will be noticed that, as another reviewer noted - the facts presented were cherry picked to fit the theory.
The author starts out by discounting witness testimony - especially that which came later after the initial incident - while using parts of that same body of testimony to make his own case. I found this to be disingenuous. The author makes statements like it can be supposed that extraterrestrial intelligence wouldn't have the kinds of problems that we have with collisions and signal interference, that could bring down one of their craft. On what does base his statement? How many advanced civilizations is this author familiar with to justify such a statement? The author seems to think that only the debris site at the Brazel ranch was important to emphasize, when there were more than one crash site. It has been said that there was not enough debris at the ranch to account for a craft of any significant size. It was at the Corona site that most of the wreckage and bodies were retrieved. The silencing of witnesses must be put in context of the time of the event. A world war had just been hard fought and won. This country idolized its military, and its leaders. Most people would have quickly fallen in line when asked not to mention anything. Others would have to be threatened. The ones not silenced by threats would have to be neutralized, either discredited, incarcerated, or secretly executed. Given that the body of the public was not inclined to question authority at that time, suppression would have been rather easy. It seems strange that to create technology and vehicles capable of the things that these craft are reported to do ( SILENTLY move at great speeds, perform right angle turns, and hover, etc. ) one would need access to large amounts of natural resources, advanced refining, large factory production facilities, and the finest minds in the world. Considering we had acquired some of the top German scientists after the war, who would have been left over to create these devices? Don't forget that these scientists didn't live in complete isolation before the war, they knew of each other and were familiar with advancements around the world in their fields. They would have had school records, university records, professional records - right up until they became part of the secret projects they were working on. Where is this documentation? Where are the factories capable of building integrated circuits, optical fibers, and the rest in the late thirties and early forties? How do you keep them secret, and how do you fund them? One can ask the same about these black projects in America, however, when one controls the government, one can make the rules and loopholes necessary to move money and materials. Lastly, this seems much akin the old Thule society mythos, dressed in another skin. I am unconvinced by his conclusions. |
