Got this carb in great working order, quick shipping. One thing to note is that the non-threaded holes that some people reported is now resolved!!!!!!!!!!!!! The box was marked "threaded" and everything was threaded correctly, no need to modify or put a tap into any of the holes!!!!

I purchased this carburetor by Oregon which was significantly lower in price than the OEM Tecumseh. This is a carburetor made in China not in Oregon,USA.. This is borderline junk, the cast bosses that hold the shroud were not predrilled large enough or deep enough to accommodate the self tapping screws that hold it on. As a result both bosses cracked at the very last 1/8 turn of the screwdriver. I mixed up epoxy to hold the mass together. The engine also has a longer warm up time to run reasonably smooth so I suspect an imperfect fuel delivery. Yes I'd do know how to adjust the carburetor properly. As I said earlier this carburator is borderline junk, the engine does run but not as smooth and responsive as I believe an OEM one would.
Yes you get what your pay for. Pass on this one and go for the OEM.

Excellent replacement carburetor, worked with no problems on a Tecumseh snowblower engine. It comes with the provisions for mounting the carb cover that is typical on most snowblowers but the holes are not threaded so you will have to drill them out and then thread them. Other than that, it is an exact replacement. I've given up trying to rebuild carburetors on small engines, the ethanol in today's fuel is corroding them badly and clogging the internal passages so that even a rebuild won't help as there is no way to clean out the corrosion. I have finally found a gas station within range that sells ethanol free 90 octane fuel and even though it costs about a $1/gal more, I am switching 100% to it as I have had to replace too many carburetors in the past few years.

This carburetor absolutely made my day. I received it in less that a week and it was very easy to install. It took me less than 30 minutes to remove the old one and reinstall the new one. After it was installed, I turned the gas back on, primed it twice, choked it and the engine started on the first pull. Now I won't have to shovel the snow out of my drive because my 26 year old snow blower is once again running. Price was right, too. I found OE Tecumseh carburetors selling for as much as $123.00. This one was less that $40.00.

Do not buy the gasket that amazon suggests you need. It is included in the carburator packaging, and you will waste seven dollars. The carb is great and only needs minor adjustments after installation.

The carburator is *almost* identical to the original Tecumseh carburetor except for a couple of little but critical details: The two holes shown on the lower right of the picture (set screw between them) are supposed to be TAPPED so you can reattach the cover once you replace the carburetor. I went nuts dugging through my scrap bin to find two screws that I coule self-thread (barely) into these holes. This is a critical omission and I'd look for another vendor or be prepared to tap the holes myself if there's a next tiome.

Also the detents on the top right in the photo don't quite match the originals.
It did come with a replacement gasket.

This box was labeled Oregon but I suspect all the replacement carburetors for these vintage engines may come from the same factor in China, no matter who the vendor. Caveat Emptor.

Ordered this carburetor to replace the original. according to all my research this should have been an exact replacement. It was pretty close but the holes on the side of the carb that are used for mounting the carb shield were not tapped out from the factory so I had to do it. Not that big a deal for me but it could be for someone that doesn't know what they're doing. After I installed the carb and started it, the snow blower was running at a crazy high rpm, but after some adjustment I got it tuned in just right. Overall I am pleased with this product. It was manufactured by Oregon which is a quality replacement. The price was very affordable compared to oem replacements and after some minor fabrication and adjustments it worked like a champ. And it only took about 3-4 days to get after I ordered it.

I just received this product and am pleased to report that this is truly a NEW carburetor, not a recondition one. I'll install it this weekend and let you know how it works. If it works as good as it looks, I'll be in good shape. Maybe this will keep the snow away :-) What I would like everyone to knows is that this carburetor comes with a gasket, you don't need to buy one. As you can see Amazon is recommending that you purchase a gasket in addition to the carburetor. Unless you need an extra gasket, save yourself $6.00 and don't buy a gasket. By the way, the carburetor arrived 2 days BEFORE the gasket that was sold directly from Amazon.
