For the money I spent it works really good. I mainly needed to cut circles for speaker installations. Did great on drywall and drop ceiling...not so hot on good. Good speed tho...

I use this to polish metals with a 1/4" arbor to a roloc mandrel style TR and TS for scotch brite conditioner pads or sanding discs. This has a speed contoller to tune it down to RPMs that are safe. The motion is instant and ball bearing construction doesn't wabble the output shaft. Its not loud or hard / heavy to hold. It has instant speed and then stops relatively soon after switched to off. Its not frightening to use and the feel is not cheap. I have used it for 4 hours in 4 to 10 minute intervals and its not over heating or too hot to hold. So now I can report its a top 10 must have if you don't have a pnumatic die-grinder in your shop and want less decible scream pitch. It also works without needed rheostat inline because its got its own built into the handle. The current RotoZip is not able to be shunted with an external motor controller (unlike its predecessors) so this motor winding is adapted to be retarded with its own. Yet when I did hook up an external motor controller it was too much resistance or phase shutter, so its only able to be fine tuned by its own dials. Which could be more then desireable for some applications that require very slow RMP like wire wheels which are pegged at 5K RMP in most cases. I would not use this to turn a wire wheel of any kind with this.
