4.0 out of 5 stars Readable but very little theory, metric units only (from UK), June 14, 1999

This review is from: Rotary Power Transmission Design (Paperback)
I reviewed this as a possible text for a Machine Design course in a Mechanical Engineering Technology Associate's degree program. It is a nice, readable book with lots of useful information, is very concise (only 158 pages) with some coverage of electric motors and the goals of the design process. Most tables, charts and sketches are clear and useful. On the minus side, there are no mention of US customary units, and very light treatment of mathematical theory. It won't work for my course, but would be a useful overview for the engineer who occasionally specifies mechanical components.
