My daughter absolutely loves it! However, the bulb finally burned out, and I'm having a lot of problems finding a replacement.

Really very, very fun and it works great. Actually I bought this on behalf of my stepdaughter to give to her dad, my husband. We got an Xbox Kinect system and a dance game and thought it would be fun to add in some disco lighting for when we play it.

It exceeds all our expectations and we highly recommend it. It's not just for teenagers, it's fine for anyone who just wants a disco effect.

Motor is completely silent too, a concern I read in other reviews of other disco lights.

I purchased two of these for my daughter's 7th birthday party. She loves them however one of them wasn't working properly right out of the box - it was making a grinding noise. The fix was very simple, so anyone that has had the same problem, here is what you have to do: Unplug the lamp, make a mark on both halves before separating them, this will make putting the two halves back together easy, take the globe and the bulb off turn the base upside down and remove the 3 screws, pull the two halves apart. You will see that the rotating is controlled by the small motor with a gear on it, the motor and gear are adjustable, just loosen the screw and you can move the entire motor and gear closer to the center gear, tighten the screw back up and the problem is fixed. I also cleaned up and put a little grease on the gears. Reassemble the unit in reverse; make sure to align the marks you made earlier.
One other thing I did while I had it apart was make it so the lamp can be hung upside down. If you look at the base, there are 3 little "feet" there that are open to the inside of the lamp. I just took 3 equal length pieces of heavy string and tied knots on the end and ran them from the inside out. You have to make sure the knot is big enough so that it doesn't pull through the hole. On the outside I tied the 3 pieces together, making sure they stayed the same length. Now you can just hang the lamp upside down from a hook or something on the ceiling or it can still be used on a table top.

I bought this for my crazy, high-schooler sister-in-law and it was a smashing gift! If the bulb were a little bigger and brighter it would have gotten 5 stars, but it still works as expected and is the right size for an average bedroom.

The disco ball I received had about half of the color tiles loose. When I tried putting the tiles back in the holes, they just fell out again. In addition to the trouble with the tiles, the ball doesn't rotate at all. The rotating mechanism was broken from the very beginning, which defeats the purpose of having a disco ball in the first place!

I am very disappointed with this item, and would not reccomend purchasing it. It was originally going to be a birthday gift for my neice, but now I have to go find something else. One of the other reviewers was correct in saying that this product is VERY cheaply made. Don't bother wasting your time or money on this dud.

I bought this for my 8 year old niece for Christmas. She loved it and plays with it ALL the time. I opened the box before I gave it to her, just to see what it looked like, and one of the colored plastic round pieces fell out. I snapped it back in and another popped out. I guess you get what you pay for!!

The ball didn't last 24 hours before the plastic gear that rotates it broke. We bought another one at Toys R Us and it lasted two days. This is very cheap.

The color tiles fell off in the box and the gear to rotate the ball broke the second day we had it. Fun but very poor quality.

This is a great toy that is fun for young and old! My 4-year old daughter got this for her birthday and absolutely loves it! We love it too...it can't help but put you in a good mood. I would definitely give this as a gift, especially after seeing my daughters's reaction to it. It's priced great too.

I wouldn't say this is a "durable" item. I'm sure if you dropped it, it might crack the plastic globe or base. Obviously, there is little educational value, but FUN nonetheless!

It spun left when we turned it on. When we turned it off and on again, it spun the other direction. Nice simple feature. The lights are interesting and bright. They aren't brilliant bright, but work well. They can be attached the to ceiling just fine
