I love it, it holds up well and is very durable.
Jeffrey Allee
They are threaded all the way through so you can spin the lock all the way off of the clip part.
Chadwick Holloman
If you want something that will hold up buy a real climbing carabiner, this thing is trash.

I knew that this was not climber rated when I bought it, but I was hoping for a little higher quality than it is. First of all, the inside usable length on this is about 64mm, outside 78mm, so the "80mm" description is a nominal figure only. In standard terms, that's 2˝" inside, 3⅛" outside.

The threads do not have stop a of any sort on them so the sleeve travels all the way to the shoulder of the nose, exposing a couple of threads on the gate, at the base of the sleeve. The sleeve can come complete off the gate, in the open position.

The finish is okay, but nothing special, and certainly not permanent.

If you're looking for a tacticool keychain, this could be it. If you're looking for a quality carabiner spend the money on something that's climber rated, even if that's not what you're going to use it for.

The nut screws all the way off either side and is mostly just for looks. Since the biner is small it doesn't look that big or tough, anyway, so even the looks aren't much to speak of.

I wouldn't buy it again; if I did, I wouldn't pay more than the price of a non-locking one--a dollar, maybe 2.

I imagine people find a multitude of uses for this product. In my case, I needed a quick method of attaching my camera (Nikon D300s) to quick connection straps on my Lowepro 350 AW DSLR Video Fastpack (Black). These did the trick. Simply put, I connected the carabiner to a webbing loop on each strap of the pack. From there, I looped the quick connect straps to the carabiner. From there, I use the quick connects to connect the camera. This method provides the greatest flexibility and load distribution.

The carabiner itself is of average build with a decent finish. By no means is this a top of the line carabiner I was used to when climbing. But it does the trick. The locking part is a little flimsy because it does not have a stop to prevent the carabiner from becoming unthreaded. I also do not like that there is no catch pin.

I bought this to replace a five-year-old non-locking carabiner that I'd been using for keeping my keys together. This one works like a charm. The locking ring prevents my keys from falling off unnoticed... which was becoming a problem. It's a bit pricey, but I'm satisfied. It's certainly cheaper than dealing with missing keys!

I use this carabiner when I hike to hang my bear bags. But 10-20 pounds is the extent to which I would trust it to hold.

Bought a few of these for a dollar each. I am satisfied with the quality for this price, but these are not comparable to heavy duty $10 carabiners that look similar. The Rothco product is very lightweight. The screw lock kind of works, but does not feel real secure. This product should be fine for lightweight loads (maybe 10 pounds), but certainly is not for holding a person in a safety situation.

This thing works perfectly as a keychain holder. Don't buy it if you plan to actually climb with it. The twist knob is a little loose at times, but it holds together when tightened all the way.

Small enough to fit in my pocket with about 4-5 keychains attached.

This carabiner is the perfect size to hold keys and keep them in your back pocket in jeans and work pants. Black goes with anything and the cam-feel of the locking mechanism is good. This isn't for climbing, but for keeping track of easy to lose items, and it's perfect. The finish is durable.
