This "axe" did not survive it's first camping trip. The head broke on the second piece of wood I used it on. The handles are made very well, but the head is too soft for any serious use.

I got this "axe" for camping.... don't know if I got a "lemon" but I can tell you one thing... the one I got wouldn't cut anything I know of... this is the first thing I will return to amazon... after many purchases.. VERY disappointed...

poorly made, but gets the job done. Spend a little more, and get a nicer one.

This ax is pretty good, but the only thing I could ask for is that it be lighter if possible. Definitely worth the price.

At first glance it's a great idea. A sturdy axe that screws together to conserve space and make it easier to carry. Then you try to use it and you realize why most axes are one solid piece of metal. Every time you swing it into something, the head twists and unscrews itself. Potentially dangerous. May still use the axe head in combo with a hammer to split small logs. Really needs some kind of locking mechanism to make it safe to use.

product is light and compact. most of the weight is in the head. i used it in the yard a little and im happy with it and confident it will last a while.

this axe is a great concept, my only issue is the blade, does not have a sharp blade, if one actually used this tool for what it was intended, i believe it would be difficult to chop anything

This is exactly what I was looking for, compact, efficient, practical. Now my son-in-law has the tool he needed a few weeks ago when he took my daughter camping. Great find and reasonable price. Quick delivery too! Thx

I tried this product out and it works. The handle and tip come unscrewed a lot, thats why I docked a star. Other than that, its nice for emergency. Comes coated with black paint so its not sharp, taking a sharp blade to it to trim off the paint, then sharpening it outside on a pavement sharpens it up to a nice point. It cut through a lot of little sticks, but don't try to split wood with this. It won't happen. Other than that, if you need to clear brush and things like that its great for base camp use. Not too heavy to carry.

The axe seems to be fine but as soon as I received the Rothco Compact Comando Axe I went to un-snap the caring case and the snap tore right out of the case. This was immediately disappointing!Rothco Compact Commando Axe
