I bought this knife to keep in my truck box.... It's built well, and it's just cool! I wouldn't go to war with it, it's not made like my benchmade, but I didn't pay 600 bucks for it either...

This review is from: Rothco Deluxe Adventurer Survival Kit Knife (Sports)
I had intended, and still do, to use it for my wife's little survival bag in case she gets stranded out in the middle of nowhere (it's happened before!).
First off, it's an awesome idea, having a hand saw, fishing necessities, minor medical gear all wrapped into a sharp (que drums) package. But, unfortunately, I don't like this particular knife set. It will work for my wife (who hates knives anyways), but I think the quality leaves a bit to be desired. I sharpened it immediately when I opened it, as it comes quite dull. Usually it takes me about an hour to decently sharpen a blade, but this one only took ten minutes. The steel is very soft and probably won't hold an edge for long. Secondly, it's very shoddy equipment. I mean, honestly, for around $20, what could I expect? But even nowadays the cheap stuff can be very high quality. Maybe I just got my hopes up too high... Anywho, all in all, it's okay, not great. Worth $20? Absolutely. But the downside, it's a $20 knife.
