Product Description

These socks are terrific for anyone who suffers from feet that always seem cold. Just insert a D-cell battery, and the sock heats up like an electric blanket. Great for sitting in a tree stand other cold weather activities.

    These do work...
with that said, I do like this product because i am a die hard hunter, but batteries do get cold and have to be replaced BUT the cost of that is about the same as toasty toys. One must take caution wearing these, first you put these on at the stand because of wear and tear and even safety, think about it. The wires do warm up to keep your toys warm but over time do break down. These need stronger wires, and a recharging system that can be charged in the truck like a cell phone. [...]

My husband uses these when hunting. The traditional warmers that react with air do not work well when his boots are tight. These do. The only thing is D batteries for them can get expensive and usually do not last more than a few days hunting, but they work so well, we will cough up the cash.
One other thing is the only way to turn these of is take out the batteries, which can be inconvenient when on the go. We keep a small baggie around to put the batteries in when he no longer want the heating element on.

I bought these socks as gifts for friends who suffer from cold feet (and hands, but that's another story). They tell me that the socks are great, but a little scratchy, so they wear regular socks inside them. Warning: the only place warmed up will be the toes; the rest of the sock is just a heavy sock.

Stopped working after 2 mos, normal wear, weren't even washed. I bought them because I have non diabetic neuropathy,a very paiful condition which maked the nerves in my feet feel like my toes have frodstbite. 24/7. For real. I got these socks so I could walk around, instead of stuck in bed w a heateing pad. They ate threw batteries-6hrs-and did get warm enough to help me, but0they died in 2 mos. They lasted 2 mos. Normal use. That is a dirty shame. U should be ashamed to sell such faulty products! Yes, Im returning them, and yes, I want my money back, and yes Im going to tell anybody wholl listen that they suck and not to buy them.

So I waited a while until I gave these socks a thorough testing to write the review and basically they're pretty good depending on your needs. Now I got these to wear on my drive to and from work and when I was photographing northern lights in extreme cold. I'm talking 30 and 40 below and for that purpose they are a life saver. Anything below 0 these seem to do the trick, my pair of wool socks left my feet numb and in pain after about 20 minutes. These though didn't exactly heat my feet, kept them from going numb and feeling pain. Now if you plan on using them in just cold temps or even inside you will probably be highly disappointed. However if you head out and could be in serious threat of hypothermia or frostbite in an emergency these socks would be really valuable. I would recommend a pair be kept in any cold weather survival kit. And I bought a pair rechargeable batteries use them about 45mins 5 days a week, then recharge.

I can feel these sock take the edge off the cold on a moderately cold morning in the deer blind but that is about all.
They do not produce enough heat to make it a comfortable morning hunting and do not last very long (kills the D cell battery rapidly)

This item was a gift and the recipient seemed to love it except they complained that maybe it requires the highest brand of battery because it didn't get very warm with a brand new cheaper brand of battery.

Not sure if the wife has incurable cold feet, or if they aren't that good. She says they aren't that good, you be your own judge.
