Product was as described very happy with this little stone.
Ruger
The stupid "made in china" sticker was right in the middle of the stone (why not on the case?)

This sharpening stone is excellent. It is lightweight and will fit well into my backpack without adding any bulk. I have a few other sharpening stones, but none this small.

One thing to consider though is the size. The stone with enclosure is about the size of my pinky finger, with the stone being about the length of my first two knuckles on my pinky. The case is small, but contoured well to make it easy to hold while sharpening. It also includes a key-ring for ease of attachment.

In all, a great portable sharpening stone that will be lightweight for any trips where weight and size are an issue. I would not count on this as my primary sharpening stone though.

I bought two of these, one for my urban manbag and one for my bugout kit. They work very well for their size; they retain oil easily, so I don't have to worry about them going dry, and it's very easy to get a fine edge on whatever I happen to be sharpening. I'll definitely buy more of these if I ever wear out the ones I have now.

I did not receive the product depicted in the photograph. It was not in a case with a key chain ring. It was just the stone itself, nothing else, and no explanation as to why. Not the end of the world but I don't like companies that do this. I'll be contacting Amazon to discuss.

When I first got it, it looked fine to me, but then immediately when I touched it, the top fell off. It is difficult to get back on and if you were to touch it again, the stone cover would just fall right off again. It is very small and lightweight, but not durable. The stone hasn't fallen out on me, but I am aware that in a different scenario it did.
Cons:
Easily falls apart
Has a China sticker right on the stone that is not easy to peel off without a sharp object

Pros:
Small
Lightweight
Good for adventuring as long as you do not mind losing the top

I'm not sure what I expected. Buyer beware, I guess. The stone is held into the cheap plastic case by a small sliver of weak adhesive--it promptly fell out the first time I tried to use it. And the stone itself is much too small (again, my fault for not looking at the dimensions closely enough) to do any real sharpening work. Pay a little more for a real sharpening stone. This was an impulse purchase that I regret.

There are so many considerations one must take in to account when preparing a load out vest or the ever more common bug out bag and size and weight are two of the biggest. From hunting, fishing, camping, etc to an emergency situation the knife is an ancient tool that is just as important as when are ancestors first fashioned flint and as with back then keeping your blade sharp is just as important. Small enough to fit on a set of keys this is a requirement for anyone carrying a blade. Not to replace a good bench-top sharpening kit with different stones and honing rods, this is a tool to keep your knife functioning on the go.

As a self proclaimed survivalist, I've taught myself to do big things with as little as possible. This product, is small but a huge asset to me and my gear. Anyone who thinks this is too small to effectively sharpen any large size knife, should go the way of nerf and call it a day.

I was going to buy this as a general stone for the workshop, until it arrived. The size is perfect for your pocket, it's very good quality, and there's a nice ring to put your finget in so you don't cut yourself. I'm buying more...
