Unlike cheapo caps, you can't wear this one indoors long. It is very warm, and clearly made of good quality wool. It doesn't itch even a bit, yet it is so warm. It is also warm even when it is wet from snow shoveling. I lost my first one, and so had to buy another one.

These caps are very warm, even when wet and/or covered in snow. The real wool makes a big difference: I have an acrylic watch cap of almost the exact same construction that is nowhere near as warm. Some synthetic caps may have it beat on bulk (these take up much more room in a pocket or bag than you would think); some other caps may be made of more exotic wools, or are available in a wider range of colors; but none could beat this timeless classic on warmth, comfort, or looks.

Item is warmer than cotton or synthetics and doesn't blow off in a strong wind. It's a great price and arrived quickly.

From the day that I was issued my first Navy uniform, I feel in love with the 100% Wool Night Watchman's cap. NOTHING will keep your head warmer. Sure you may look as if you are about to burglarize a home, but you will be comfortable, and that is what counts. LOL

Seriously, if you want the best beanie there is, don't buy synthetics...buy the best. 100% Wool. It keeps your head warm and dry, and it doesn't hold smells.

If the US Navy uses these out at sea, so should you.

The 100% wool U.S. Navy Spec Watch Cap is the best piece of cold weather gear ever made. When you sleep outdoors in cooler weather, a must have. No, they're not as good (thick) as back in the sixties. But what is?

Great product it's the real thing...have not been able to find one to replace the many that I lost during my service. These hats saw a lot of service over the years...Many a cold night on watch waa spent with this hat worn by many a good sailor.

I lost my father's hat from his time in the service and was having trouble finding a replacement. A number of stores claimed to have the correct hat but when I tried them on it was clear they were poor quality and didn't fit right.

I'm happy to report that this IS the hat used by the Navy or at least a very close approximation. I'm very happy with the purchase and would definitely order one of these again if I were to lose this one.

Well, for some reason this product is not as big as I thought.
So I gave it to my mother and She looks really cute, behold I'm satisfied.

Although this product is wool as stated and well made, it seems lighter than the wool watch caps that I remember from the Navy. Still, it's a good quality product.
