With belts, "small/medium/large" is not a great way to express the size, and in this case I ended up with a belt too small for my use. This belt, the medium size, is 30inches at the tightest and 35inches at the loosest. I'm a basically medium-sized person, and my waist measurement is closer to the small end of that range, but obviously I don't wear a belt directly against my skin. Since most pants these days sit below the natural waist, the belt line is actually nearer my hips. Once I've added the fabric bulk of clothing (I bought this belt for use when accompanying my partner on hunting trips, so several layers of clothing would be between my skin and the belt) and taken into account where the belt actually sits on my body, it just doesn't fit. I can cinch it up and force it, but that means bulky folds of fabric that are unattractive and very uncomfortable.

The seller I purchased this from offers product exchange if I selected the wrong size, but I have to pay shipping. Since I've already paid shipping once to get it to me, paying shipping to send it back would mean I'd have paid as much in shipping as the belt cost.

3 stars because the belt itself seems sturdy and well sewn, there's no fraying around the grommets, and the pouches (though difficult to force through belt loops since they're wider than the 2inch belt) are what I expected, but basically the product is worthless to me because the sizing wasn't more clear.

The size of the belt is too large to fit into any of my pants' belt loops. Bust.
