As a bass player who truly loves 4 string basses, these strings are the best. I have a hipshot tuner that I use to drop my E string down to a D on occasion, and these strings keep that low nice and tight. My issue with 5 string basses is the noodley feeling B string. These Roto's provide a much tighter sound when played below standard E tuning. These strings, once broken in, stay in tune. I admit I've always been a fan of Rotosound stings, and its strings like this that created that impression with me. GHS Boomers and D'addario's are fine, but for my 'working' basses, it'll always be Rotosound.

Greatest strings I ever used,

Unbelievable tone. The strings resonate through the wood very well. I tried almost every brand of strings and nothing compares to these. Great strings for harmonics. The .043 G string is perfect for harmonics and yet have a fat tone for bass notes. These strings really shine if your bass has humbuckers.
