I found this a better SA guide than Lonely Planet's, but not as good as the Insight guide. Rough Guide is comprehensive and objective, if you ignore the usual weepy political crapola at the beginning. I haven't been to the country yet (going next summer), but this is one book I will definitely use. The map (bought separately) is good for an overall intro and for discovering where the roads are.
