The book does cover Istanbul pretty well - however, there were several things that bothered me immensely in this book.

First, the maps - There's not nearly enough of them, and they're organized in a haphazard fashion. For this book, the maps covering the Asian side of Istanbul had a coverage gap, so if you were looking for the Florence Nightingale Museum, it wasn't on any of the maps. I ended up using my Top 10 Istanbul (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guides) in lieu of the maps in this book.

Also, I found a handful of errors, namely prices of admission to various places and a few logistical issues.

Overall, I'm glad that I had my Top 10 Istanbul book to use instead of just relying on this book. Even having been to Istanbul before, I still felt lost when reading this book and using it as a guide. That's not a good sign.

This travel guide was awful for many reasons, including poor organization and dreadful maps (there were about five roughly overlapping maps of each neighborhood, each with different destinations marked and with different streets labeled). But I think the most indicative remark I can make is that the language guide at the end got the Turkish word for "Hello" wrong.

This guide book is full of both clerical errors and informational mistakes. Some of them are tragical and some of them are tragicomic. It looks like a book prepared very quickly with the unconfirmed information obtained from non-authorized people.

The guidebook was very handy. We spent a three day weekend in Istanbul and found what we were looking for. There is a little bit of history which is nice. I would recommend this for a short stay in Istanbul.
