5.0 out of 5 stars BEST LAS VEGAS BOOK FOR 2011
SINCE THE MID 80'S I HAVE READ 4-5 LAS VEGAS TRAVEL GUIDE BOOKS EACH YEAR. THIS IS THE FIRST ONE I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN MYSELF. IT DESCRIBES THE STRIP CASINOS BY AREA AND DOWNTOWN CASINOS. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not a useful guide for a Vegas traveler...
I travel frequently to Las Vegas and was given this book as a gift. Had I perused it in a bookstore, I never would have purchased it for myself. Simply put, the book does not have complete information. The best example is the buffet listing, what one would imagine is a necessity for any Vegas newbie, which omits a number of well-known establishments (like the Aladdin!)...

SINCE THE MID 80'S I HAVE READ 4-5 LAS VEGAS TRAVEL GUIDE BOOKS EACH YEAR. THIS IS THE FIRST ONE I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN MYSELF. IT DESCRIBES THE STRIP CASINOS BY AREA AND DOWNTOWN CASINOS. YOU GET A GOOD GRASP OF THE OVERALL CASINO/RESORT DETAILS. THERE ARE PHOTOS TO HELP GIVE YOU AN IMAGE OF LAS VEGAS. THIS AUTHOR REALLY GIVES YOU MORE THAN JUST COMMON INFORMATION. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE EXTENSIVE COVERAGE OF OUTLYING AREAS AND THE GRAND CANYON TOURS AVAILABLE. THE INFORMATION IS TESTED AND CURRENT. I HIGHLY APPROVE THIS BOOK ABOVE THE OTHER ANNUAL ADDITIONS.

I travel frequently to Las Vegas and was given this book as a gift. Had I perused it in a bookstore, I never would have purchased it for myself. Simply put, the book does not have complete information. The best example is the buffet listing, what one would imagine is a necessity for any Vegas newbie, which omits a number of well-known establishments (like the Aladdin!). When you fly into McCarran or arrive at a casino, pick up any of the free, wekkly published booklets instead of this 'guide', they're far superior!
