The Rough Guide to Prague is the definitive guidebook to the Czech capital. A 24-page, full-colour introduction gives an inspiring insight into many of Prague’s highlights, from the spectacular castle complex to the cobbled back streets and secret gardens of Malá Strana. There are comprehensive accounts of day-trips to the medieval town of Kutná Hora and other nearby attractions. 5.0 out of 5 stars Detailed guide with excellently written entries., March 22, 2010

This is a very thorough guide, which I've purchased as a companion to the "Eye Witness" guide to Prague. This "Rough" guide is particularly well written, in greater detail than most guides--anything but rough. Highly intelligent and informed, it's meant for the serious traveler who likes to dig deep. The appendix covering Prague/Czech history is concise but remarkably revealing. This guide will definitely enhance my third trip to Prague.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book about Prague. Not bad., March 23, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Rough Guide to Prague 6 (Rough Guide Travel Guides) (Paperback)
I bought this version, and a friend I met up with had the more condensed one. We used the smaller one most of the time. Something that sucked about these books was the fact that a few of the places seemed to be in the wrong spot on a couple maps. Nothing big, but sometimes a place would be across the street, or two places supposedly next door to each other would be across the road. A pretty good book, but the smaller one will likely be just as useful. The restaurant and pub reviews were good. If I were to do things over, I'd get another pocket-sized map as well, mark where I wanted to go, then leave this book in the hotel.

this is a history of prague and everything in it, with a bit of information about traveling there. i would not call it a guide book or anything that is really going to help you in travel planning.
