A Good Map of India is Hard To Find
The Rough Guide map of South India is pretty damn good. Not all of the detail I wanted in terms of smaller towns and villages, but the detail is still excellent, and the rip-proof, water-proof material is a definite winner. It is actually against Indian law to remove a topographic map of India from the country, or send one overseas. This is about the best...

Not a complete map!
Good detailed map but is missing northern part of the coast of Andhra Pradesh state as well as all of Orissa coast. The illustration on the front cover (with a red outlined square on a small map of India) leads you to believe that the map covers all of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, but it doesn't.

The Rough Guide map of South India is pretty damn good. Not all of the detail I wanted in terms of smaller towns and villages, but the detail is still excellent, and the rip-proof, water-proof material is a definite winner.
It is actually against Indian law to remove a topographic map of India from the country, or send one overseas. This is about the best you are going to find as a good travel map.
