I'm sold on Rough Guides. This book is like having a history book to go along with info about so many popular and not so popular places that after reading the description about them, you want to visit. Every time I open it, I learn something new and it makes me want to visit so many places in the USA.

I love this guide, I have the one for Canada and now got the one for the USA. It has heaps of useful information and since it shows the whole country, it has to be very summarized and straight to the point, and I like that because I don't have to read 100 pages for one city. It gives precious information for places to stay, to eat, how to get there, how much things cost and so on (although some prices are outdated already).

I feel like this book was a little bit a waste of money. It was pretty compact, and had a overview of almost every major area (which is what I was looking for) including a few hotels and restaraunts. However, in one instance it was MAJORLY wrong. We went to monumnet valley in arizona/utah. It highly recommended an navajo led back-country jeep tour (sounds pretty cool) for just $25 a person. We get there and there are NO back country tours. It takes you on a dirt road which you can drive yourself, and it was not a jeep. It was a bus with the windows knocked out of it. AND, to top it off, it was $60, not $25! After that I didn't really use it because I didn't feel like I could trust the book.

Can't go wrong with a rough guide - I just wish they could fit more in!
