Well rounded guide
We enjoy traveling to Vancouver frequently and were looking for a guidebook that had more than just the typical lodging/eating options. I like this book because it has sections on hiking, children's activities, shopping as well as small sections on nearby destinations of Victoria and Whistler. I find it to be helpful as a quick reference for ideas of things to do.

Helpful, but with some holes
I'm a big fan of the Rough Guides. This guide, however, was less than accurate in its restaurant reviews. More importantly, its characterization of Chinatown and East Hastings was that both areas are fine during the day. I disagree strongly. Vancouver is trying to clean up both areas, but until that's accomplished, I don't plan to venture past Gastown.
