Good nunchucks, dropped it hella times and it still works! The foam does tend to slightly move off a bit, and can just be pulled back on. Steel chain, doubt it can break.

Produced was exactly what I expected. Great for beginners just starting to learn how to use nunchakus. Padding is enough to protect from the inevitable self-inflicted strike to the head, back, etc. The chain with swivel joints allows for very smooth movement.

I have some kids students who used to practice with nunchakus made of wood, but with the firsts strikes that they received by themselfs they start to used with scare and try to evoid the trainning. With this padded nunchakus (that also have a very professional aspect) this kids love the trainning seassons, are not scared at all ('cause there's not injuries) and develop an incredible habilities with them ('cause this are so much lighter) and you can generate an amazing speed with them... so, when they use the "real" ones again, it's so much easier to do the excercises and get a better control.
You can also use this for martial art presentations, embus, videos, movies and you'll be an xtremme ninja!!! XD Rough Rider Black Foam Padded Nunchakus

I ordered 2 nunchaku. They arrived on time and matched the picture displayed. Both of my nunchaku were in good condition and didn't have any major concerns. However, there was a small dent in the foam at the bottom of one of my nunchaku. I can't seem to bend the foam back to fix the dent. Besides this small aesthetic issue, there were no problems with the nunchaku.
They are fairly light (weight is towards the top, but not enough to create difficulties) and the swivel joint allows for smooth rotation. There are 7 links that make up the chain. The foam doesn't seem to be able to be moved. The hard plastic rod under the foam ends before the foam. The foam continues on for about 7-8 mm. I would recommend these foam nunchaku to anyone who wanted to learn. The golden dragon design is fairly light and will probably start to fade. The chain and diameter of the nunchaku isn't too big or too small in my opinion. One of my nunchaku was slightly longer than the other by only a few millimeters. I rate these nunchaku a 5/5. The small dent in the foam doesn't interfere with overall performance. Details: Length of foam - 10.75 in Overall length (not counting swivel joint) - 12.15 in Diameter of Nunchaku - 1.25 in Foam thickness - 0.25 in Each chain link - 2.4 cm (15/16 in) Total chain length - 6.6 in Swivel joint - 1 cm (0.4 in) Metal part between swivel joint and foam - 3.4 cm (1.34 in) Gold dragon design - 4.6 in

Much much better than any of the rope based nunchucks I've seen others use. The action from the chain is pretty smooth and the weight is good. I haven't found any part of them as unpadded or hard. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is I've found it's left some black marks on my white gii when practicing some transistions. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a common problem with chain based nunchucks. One other note, I've been using these pretty regularly for about a month and I haven't had any of the pattern come off.

Pretty good for you begginers,

Back when I was still in martial arts, I was taught how to use these foam nunchakus before I got on to use hard material ones and then finally on to the metal ones and I gotta say this, these things were pretty damn fine. These don't leave bruises or excruciating pain behind, these we're made perfectly for beginners, although the grips are pretty thick you will get used to them, The chain's mobility is exactly what is expected of the nunchakus mobility and the for the hits, these things are safe enough for practice even without armor or gear. This is exactly what is recommended for beginners in martial art weapons, trust me, buy these and your on your way to learning something well.

iBought these as a set of practice nunchucku before iGet real hardwood ones. These have a decent design and build. The only negatives are that the rubber ends of the nunchucku come off somewhat easily and the dragon design on the handles rub off after a day or two of use.

The chain and swivel mechanism is very smooth and the nunchuks are nice to work with from that perspective. The big problem I found is that the foam is not securely attached to the plastic underneath. The nunchuk style I'm familiar with means that generally within 30 seconds the naked nunchuk will go flying across the room while a foam handle remains in my hand. This is pretty dangerous and they narrowly missed my TV yesterday. I used gorilla glue to attempt to permanently attach the foam to the plastic. It worked fine for one handle. The other foam handle got stuck half way and had to be cut up and glued in two pieces, i.e. ugly mess. Overall I wouldn't recommend these as there are other similarly priced foam nunchuks where the foam is properly attached.

The idea is great for practice so your not getting hurt, but they broke the first time used at the swivel joint piece. Had to duct tape them to get anymore use out of them. Seems like they are more of a party favor type item.

These are an excellent buy. The ball bearings are high-quality and the padding is sufficient to protect yourself without compromising too much weight. Given the price, these are an excellent starting set for practice.
