This review is from: The Rough Rider (The House of Winslow #18) (Paperback)
This book is breaththaking from breginning to end. one of the most popular Christian series, the House of Winslow takes the reader through America's history while unravelling the lives of the young Winslow men and women. Each book tells the story of a Winslow; the romance, the heartbreak, the serch for a forgiving God. this book was delightful to read, as are all the House of Winslow books.

This review is from: The Rough Rider (The House of Winslow #18) (Paperback)
I'm on book #20 in the House of Winslow series by Gilbert Morris. This is the story of the Spanish American war and Teddy Roosevelt mixed in with fictitious characters. I love learning about history by reading historical fiction of this type. Gilbert Morris is a master storyteller.

Great Story but a Bit Rough!,
By Brandi (Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Rough Rider: 1898 (The House of Winslow #18) (Paperback)
After the death of his cousin Aaron Winslow returns home. After being home for a short time his parents encourage him to go to New York to visit with his brother, Lewis, who is bound and determined to fight against the Spanish in Cuba.
Gail Summers lives in the rough area of New York City where it's hard for her family to make a living. Her step father takes all her earnings when she comes home so when the opportunity arises for her to become a nurse with the help of Dr. Burns she jumps at the chance. Gail and her brother meet Aaron and his brother Lewis through the mission that Awlful Gardner started a few books ago. After their meeting they develop a friendship. Aaron decides to join the army to try to protect him. They get into the Rough Riders with the help of William Randolph Hearst, who wants Aaron to write about being in the army. I must say this one wasn't one of my favorite in the series. It just didn't seem to get going for me. But it is still a good addition to the series.
