Book Description

July 25, 2006
Cass has always been there for Tom, her twin - racing off to laugh with him in the old, abandoned ice house or planning how to foil Jamieson, the farm's creepy pest-killer. But now Cass is a teenager, she is changing - she wants her privacy and feels suffocated by their life on the farm. Bewildered, Tom struggles to regain their former closeness, but only succeeds in alienating both Cass and Jamieson's daughter Lisa, until the night of the storm.

From AudioFile

Although Francis's British accent gives the story of twins Tom and Cass and the egg book they keep in the icehouse (to record their faults) some appeal, Francis can't make this muddled story shape up. Tom is resentful because Cass is growing away from him, and both siblings carry a grudge against a man who works for their parents killing moles, mice and other unwanted wildlife on their parents' farm. But the story never seems to get to the point--or even know what that point is. M.C. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine --This text refers to the Audio Cassette edition.
