5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the challenge of assembly...
I have to admit that I thought this "snap together" model would... well, 'snap together' a lot easier than it did. I quickly found that this model needed to be treated as a regular glue-type kit, and its age bracket should probably be more like 13+ (level 2). Like some of the other reviews here, I'm an adult and I had to trim some of the components to fit, but if you...

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money!!!
If Scooby and Shaggy could see what a piece of crap this toy is, they would quit the cartoon business. Its a model not a toy with little plastic pieces which don't even fit together. Three adults tried to assemble this and each of them threw it back in the box. Don't be conned by the nice packaging. It sure looks like fun from from the outside. But inside is pure hell.

I was so frustrated by this chintzy toy!! I thought it would 'snap together' but it needs to be glued like another reviewer said. Definitely not for an 8 year old! I ordered 2- one for my son and one for my nephew- I am sending the one for my nephew back! I have excellent fine motor skills (I am an artist) but I was completely frazzled by the number of times it fell apart while putting it together. The plastic is so cheap and nothing stayed in place like it should have. DO NOT BUY!!

My grandson loved the toy, but it was a snap together construction. I wound up gluing the parts to keep them together.

This toy was breaking and falling apart as we were trying to assemble. Not all the parts fit together, kept falling apart, wheels came off, Scooby's arm was off...CHEAP, CHEAP CHEAP. If you are even thinking about buying this toy, please, save yourself the hassle and just throw your $20 in the trash or flush it down the toilet. (I only gave this one star because it wouldn't allow me to enter zero stars!)

I was really frustrated with the toy quality. Pieces does not attach at all so I had to use super glue to put the truck together.

I do not recomend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the challenge of assembly..., August 29, 2010

I have to admit that I thought this "snap together" model would... well, 'snap together' a lot easier than it did. I quickly found that this model needed to be treated as a regular glue-type kit, and its age bracket should probably be more like 13+ (level 2). Like some of the other reviews here, I'm an adult and I had to trim some of the components to fit, but if you approach this kit as a regular glue-type model, you'll be able to relax and enjoy it. it took me about three hours to paint and put together. Once its all together, it looks great! I love having it on display.

PROS: Inxpensive for the quality of the kit; very easy assembly instructions; Scooby and Shaggy figurines are exact relicas of the cartoons and come prepainted in the correct colors and tones; very colorful pieces and the decals have a 'cloth-like' feel; fun because it is a little challenging to assemble.

CONS: BE CAREFUL - the decals tear easily if you don't take your time removing them from the paper; I had to use an X-Acto blade to cut down the figurine's pegs (on their bottoms) so that they would fit into the seat of the van (I also had to use model glue to permanently fix them in place); I had to completely paint the spare tire, the wheel hubcaps, the parking and tail lights, and the roof racks (but I paint all my models anyway for a more authentic appearance).

FINAL THOUGHTS: Not recommended for children unless there are adults around who enjoy putting models together. It takes patience and a little experience for a nice job. Not intended to be used as a toy, but probably best to be placed on display.

Very poor quality and a pain to put together. Pieces were breaking while I was putting it together. Not worth its value. The van is smaller than I expected also.

I read the reviews that this was very cheap plastic but my daughter wanted a Mystery Machine so bad that I went ahead and bought it anyway. Please save your money unless you are going to put this together and sit it on a shelf and never touch it again.

This toy is described as easy to snap together, but it's so not! The pieces do not snap together at all. Some pieces just slip right out and some you can't even get together. I broke 2 pieces trying to snap it together. Don't waste your money on this piece of crap.
