Spacers are unthreaded tubes that separate, space, or connect components within a system to ensure proper placement. Round spacers (also called clearance spacers) are the standard shape, while hex and square styles have flat sides that can be gripped with a wrench or pliers. Saddle spacers (also called saddle washers) and angled spacers have one flat end and one end that accommodates a curved or an angled component, respectively. Panel spacers are another type of spacer that provides a decorative or architectural mounting option for glass or display panels. Captive panel spacers have one toothed edge that inserts directly into the panel and hooks in to securely hold the panel away from the mounting surface.

Provides perfect clearance for #4 screws. A 6-32 tap formed usable threads without distorting the OD. Tried an 8-32 tap as well; it bulged the OD and didn't cut as nice.
I planned on cutting the length down as I needed a few different sizes. This took a lot more time than I anticipated. Filing saw marks & burrs of the end took a while with the low friction material. Slicing with a razor blade worked a bit better. I would recommend against planning to cut them to size to save a few bucks and order all the lengths you need.
Wish the spec listed online is more accurate.
