Functional but better choices,

Purchased because needed stainless step can of this size and couldn't find a SimpleHuman unit in local stores. Functional but a bit flimsy with rough edges on the pedal, which doesn't line up with either the lid hinge (offset slightly, which grows more annoying each time the can is used) or the small foot under the pedal. Found a SimpleHuman model online for $10 more; will be ordering it soon and "retiring" this Polder.

We bought this to put used pet litter into. It's the perfect size and fits reused fresh produce bags as liners. Because it's small and light, if it's not particularly full, standing on the pedal can cause tipping.

Very sturdy little trash can,

I bought this to replace my broken "simple human" trash can, which broke after less than a year due to use of plastic parts in the mechanism. The cans are very similar, in size and function, but this one is much more sturdy because it is made from metal instead of plastic. The size is perfect for bathrooms. It has a plastic insert in the can so it is easy to empty. You should get it, you will like it.

Trash Can Review,

This trash can looks just like the one I was replacing, which worked for 6 or 7 years and then the pedal started giving out. This one seems just as tough, but one little problem...the bolts that hold the handle on the liner can catch on the garbage bag if it's really full, putting holes in the bag. I attempted to rectify this by removing the liner can, but there is some hardware inside the outer can that catches even worse than the other can! My only advice is not to fill the bags too much before changing them.

Can't go wrong for this price, I mean you're getting a metal step can for this price. The only drawback is its size, but it worked great for what I needed it for.

Dissapointment - Inside Lid is All RUSTY 8 Months Later,

Had similar model (perhaps the even the same brand) in white which lasted for years. I accidentally broke the inside bucket and so needed a replacement. -- Thought I would try the "Stainless Steel" version. It works well. The lid never fails to rise when I step on the pedal and never stays jammed in the open position. I use it with Glad ForceFlex bags as liners. The bags balloon a bit at the top and form a seal with the lid, so it DOES seal in odors. But inside the lid is now all RUSTY. That did not happen with the white one. The outside is rust-free despite getting wet all the time. If I replace this with another "stainless model" I think I will apply a thin coating of petroleum jelly to the underside of the lid to protect it. [Either that or Cosmoline ;-) ]

the step mechanism is really tight and sometimes doesnt work at all. we thought it would loosen up but it never did and now it is too late to return. and it slides all around the floor.

I bought this to replace a plastic step-can I bought a while back. This all metal can is much nicer and has a removable liner, so you can take the bag out separate from the rest of the unit.Very nice size to fit in a small kitchen.

I used this for about 3 months and the lid already broke off. I'm one person who is not home often, so this had light use. Should have spent a little more for a better quality can.

Not such a great step can since when you step on it if it's on carpet, the entire can moves, which is annoying. Also, annoying when the lid slams down loudly when replacing the inner container (especially since this is in a baby room).
