Banjo Addicts Take Note, July 17, 2001

I have countless banjo recordings in my collection, and this one easily is my favorite. What a collaboration! Tony Furtado's adventurous style, incorporating touches of celtic, blues and jazz, is contrasted nicely by Tom Adams' rock-solid traditional Scruggs style. And Tony Trischka -- still the best in the business, always surprising and never getting stuck in any particular niche. Contributions by the "back-up band" (a guitar piece by the superhuman David Grier and some nice clawhammer banjo by bassist Mark Schatz) are a nice addition also. And the live venue supercharges the whole package. Buy it!
