Mostly Good but . . .,

I likely would have given this stand a 3.5, but obviously not an option. My rationale is fairly simple. The stand/ saw (mine a Hitachi C10fs)is handy to roll where you need it in most cases. It will take a minute or two to get the rollers, stock support . . . set up, but with much less work than sawhorses and some other stands. I beleive that comparatively speaking, the Rousseau stand is far better built than the Trojan or Delta stands. In general I am satisfied. Where I think the saw falls and unfortunately I do mean falls short, is in wheeling the saw around. Going down steps, pushing over multiple extension cords, wood . . . can without too much effort, result in the saw flipping over or worse into you shins. ( Been there ! ) The stand has such a short wheelbase, which aids the stand in tight quarter manuevers; but also allows the stand and saw to flip easier than I would expect. Despite the big tires, they get hung up on more than I imagined. If you can keep the notion in mind to push down low, once the rear legs are folded when moving this saw around, I think it is a well made stand, that will last for years of serious work. For general in shop use though, I would likely build a cart with storage and save the money. The stand definitely helps with portability of heavy & awkward saws, ( which is likely why you're looking for portable stands ) but this one can get out hand a little too quick, when trying to be quick. Good, but not exactly everything I had hoped for.

First and foremost: this is a great stand. I have been futzing around with homemade mitre saw stands for years without much satisfaction. This saw stand has made a significant productivity improvement for myself and my employees. However, there are two drawbacks I wish Rousseau would address: #1 - There is no place to store the feed roller supports when the stand is folded. I stash them between the table and the folded legs which works OK until you need to lay the stand down in the truck bed and then the supports fall out. Other than that, this is a great tool. #2 - There is no intermediate (roller) support so you have to constantly adjust the feed rollers in and out as you cut moulding down and then get a new piece. If there was an intermediate support, then you could set it up so that both a long and short piece of stock could be supported without adjustment.

2nd best stand on the market,

I have used several of these over the years. I like them a lot. They have been improved as time goes on. I prefer the Trojan MS2000. It gives a higher work surface. I also like the fact that all components fold up into one unit. You don't have to carry any part of it seperately. Unless you buy the ms2000x extention wing which is not necessary unless you are cutting really heavy lumber. I also like the fact that it gives support over a much greater area than the rousseau. With the many cross members on the extention wings , your cutoffs never take a dive. This adds a measure of safety. It also folds up much more quickly. Over all the Trojan is a better jobsite stand. I bought my second one recently and I'm happy I did.

We used this saw stand in conjunction with the ss6000L and the 6112 when we built my deck and it worked excellent. I built my deck on the weekends and when i used the saw i just had to roll it out of my shed and plug it in. At night I rolled it back in. The stop system setup fast and made good accurate cuts. when I had to help my brother I just folded the stand up and threw it in the back of my pickup and went to his house. and in just a minute i was set completely back up.

I ran into some trouble trying to assemble the stand as well as having some issues about the way it came packaged. I contacted The Rousseau Co. via email and received a response from Brian Rousseau. He didn't make any excuses, just gave me the steps to correct the problem. I am now a happy owner of the HD2950.

Company that stands behind their product!!!!,

The stand as in other reviews stated is a little hard to move around. I too had the misfortune of dealing with repeatedly flat tires at my job but a few minutes of research online led me to a review here on amazon, and after a quick call to the company, they sent out a pair of new and improved tires with tubes, and we havent had problems since. Its rare that you find a company that stands behind their products, so I just wanted to take the time and convey my appreciation to them here. Thanks!!!

Great with extension table & stops... but, tire problems.,

I really love my HD2950 and it is worth every cent. I added the extension wing with cutoff stops and integral measuring tape and I get perfect repetetive cutoffs every time. The extension is very solid. I've had no problem putting a 16 foot 4x8 on this table with its extension wing and adjusting it for a perfect compound miter cut.The partial downfall is the tires. I agree with the reviewer who said that despite their large size and bounciness they still can get hung up on rolling over, for instance, a walnut or garden hose. Worst of all, my tires came unseated after some broad temperature changes (i must not have aired them up often enough) and these particular model tires are impossible to remount with a bicycle pump. In fact I just took them to a couple of car-tire stores and they were unable to get them reseated with 200psi compressors. Apparently there is only the main bead on the tire rim, and no secondary bead to help make the preliminary seal while the pressure builds. It's near impossible to keep the rubber pre-seated on both sides while also filling them. There's probably a simple solution like "do it underwater" but i haven't found it yet. I've reseated dozens of wheelbarrow tubeless tires before but this problem appears to be different. But I love the stand. I just might replace my tires with an equivalent size solid tire.

My 1ST table came damaged in shipping. Amazon was grate with the return & had UPS pick up the damaged table at my home. Two days after the pick up , Amazon had a 2ND table at my home. I was home this time when it showed up & helped the UPS kid get it from the truck to the house. It also had a gaping hole in it at one of the box ends, it had me worried. I had the UPS guy wait until I opened it. The entry hole was into a hollow spot in the box, no damage this time. I guess 80lbs.is too much for 1 UPS person to handle. "UNDERSTANDABLE",but thats a shipping problem. Now to the Rousseau 2950 miter saw stand. It was everything I expected & then some. The quality of the construction in the fabrication of the stand is EXCEPTIONAL. When you fold down the table with a 60lbs. miter saw bolted to it, the nemadic tires make it so nice when you are draging it up & down steps. I will be buying other Rousseau products. There is another little bonous when the table is set up. Beside the Rousseau name, there is a sticker. CRAFTED WITH PRIDE IN THE USA . And they are not kidding around.

Dear editors: please add the following to the review of the HD2950 that i submitted just a couple of hours ago:I called Rousseau's toll free number and they are sending me new wheels free of charge. Their customer service was friendly, prompt, and intelligent... perfect. This brings the stand up to 4 or 4.5 stars in my opinion... to make it up to 5 they would need to make it easier to work with while folded up -- as another reviewer said, the attachments for the T-stands stick out a lot and there's no easy place to stow the T's themselves. But in actual use I love this stand and it's always worth the setup time to use it rather than going back to repetitive measured cutoffs with a skilsaw.
