PortaMax Jr, turns portable tabel saw into contractor's saw,
By William W Witman (Reading, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rousseau 2600 PortaMax Jr. Table Saw Table Top and Fence System (Tools & Home Improvement)
Adding the PortaMax Jr to your 8-1/4" or 10" Bench-top table saw gives you an accurate saw with a precise rip fence, equal to many higher priced Table Saws. Allow ripping a full 4X8 sheet of plywood lengthwise. This accesory is easy to install and Rousseau provides prompt replies to any questions that arise during installation. Table fits Delta, Makita and most other portable contractor's saws and allows you to make precise cuts using the strong, secure fence. I have used this accessory with my Delta 8-1/4" saw for cabinet making, and general woodworking. The table is strong and is easily adjusted to remain level with the saw table. I am very satisfied and now I have a versatile table saw tha is nearly as accurate as rigs costing more than the saw and PortaMax combined.

Portamax JR PM2600D, You Bet!,
By David Wheaton (Windham, ME USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rousseau 2600 PortaMax Jr. Table Saw Table Top and Fence System (Tools & Home Improvement)
Easy to install and easy to adjust. Although not noted in the writeup, the Portamax JR PM2600D is a direct bolt up for the Makita 2703 XL table saw. This makes this saw 1) accurate and #2)enable a 24" rip. This allows the accuracy of the rousseau table, but also allows you to use the stand that comes with the Makita 2703 XL saw. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I bought this table extension and fence for my Makita 10" portable table saw. The Makita came with a terrible fence that was almost always off-center and inaccurate. Even worse, the table was so small, you could only make cuts up to 12" wide. This table extension makes the saw able to rip full size sheet goods (the long way) and the fence makes the Makita a decently accurate saw to work with. So far I've used this combination for making speaker cabinets and homebrew arcade controls cabinets and it has exceeded my expectations. Rousseau has built a very high quality product.

Makita's 2703 table saw's best friend,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rousseau 2600 PortaMax Jr. Table Saw Table Top and Fence System (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have been using the Rousseau 2600 PortaMax Jr. Stand for over a month now, I'm very satisfied with its durability. It has transformed my Makita 2703 table saw from something that I had regretted ever buying to something I now enjoy using. The Rousseau 2600 provided a rip fence that's dependable plus a large table top surface. The reason for only 4 stars is the rip fence is approximately 2" high and doesn't have any holes to mount anything to it.

Replace a mediocre fence,
I have a Makita portable table saw that had an inferior fence. A friend told me about this replacement fence system that would bolt onto the Makita and replace the stock fence. I ordered the PortaMax (I think it was called Rousseau when I ordered it) and promptly installed it. What a difference! I could suddenly rip larger pieces, they were straight and I could set my measurements directly off of the fence ruler. That little saw has been a workhorse for me with the new fence.
The stand does have a few drawbacks - the system does add a lot of weight making it a less portable, the fence doesn't slide quite as nicely as the "big boy" fences and, just recently, some of the powder coating flaked off the back rail (after three years). If you want an accurate fence on a your portable table saw, this is the product that will deliver.

Excellent product, minor modifications needed.,

This table saw top does wonders for Makita saws - the difference is like night and day! Everything comes packaged well, and includes directions and hardware for various saws. Tip: look at the catalog photo more than the instruction manual (a company catalog is included in the box). The directions included for installing the top onto my Makita 2703 saw made sense, but also lacked serious details. Once installed, the top didn't line up quite right (the fence would not glide over the new addition without wacking the extended top), and the top itself was set back about 1" too far. I took the whole setup back apart, and redrilled the manufacturers holes into different locations - everything was prefect after that. Also, there was a good amount of black paint overspray on the fence, which had to be filed off (always check the fence with something like a 4' level or straight edge - mine curved inward 1/4" in the center due to the overspray of paint). Granted, I need to repaint the fence, but hey, it works like a charm. Honestly, this is an excellent product that extends the life of these saws. I think the price is slightly high, but with free shipping, I'm not complaining! Highly suggested to anyone who may be considering the purchase.

It makes the saw even more worthwhile,

I have a 9 year old version of the stand to go with my Makita saw - and both are going strong after endless projects, including large, hardwood furniture pieces. The stand is what makes this setup worthwhile: more accurate, safer to use and capable of cutting full size ply sheets. The only downside is that it is a bit clumsy to fold up. Every manufacturer should offer a base extension like this. Buy one!

The fence glides smoothly and locks up tight and straight. The additional 12 inches of rip capacity is a plus. This product made my Makita tablesaw a valuable tool in my woodshop.
