5.0 out of 5 stars The best little film you've never heard of, December 13, 2010

This review is from: Route 30 (DVD)
When i saw this at a local gift store, the title intrigued me, having driven Route 30 many times. This cinematic gem doesn't disappoint, and I found myself longing for more. As luck would have it, the website says filming of the sequel has started. Buy this now, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Route 30 - Best independent movie this year!, November 3, 2009
This review is from: Route 30 (DVD)
We showed Route 30 on a big screen at our house for friends last week, and everyone screamed with laughter! It's funny, smart, and completely heart-warming. It gives you a local-flavor of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania that has very little to do with the Civil War, and all to do with people arguing about getting shot in the but. Dana Delaney (Desperate Housewives, China Beach) stars as a cigarette-weilding, beer drinking Amish woman and David DeLuise (Wizards of Waverly Place) plays her "supplier." Curtis Armstrong (Booger from Revenge of the Nerds) and Kevin Rahm (Desperate Housewives) play deer hunters who refuse to shoot deer, except with a camera, and eventually stumble into Big Foot! The film also features Lee Wilkof, who played Seymour in the original Off-Broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors," and Natalie Boltt, who was in this summer's "District 9."

If you want to see a non-Hollywood, totally original movie, buy this one. It's amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Reviews and a synopsis, November 16, 2011
...a satisfying cinematic banquet - Harrisburg Patriot news.

Route 30 offers a hilarious take on local life - Gettysburg Times

Dana Delany is funny and heartwarming - Film Threat

Three interconnecting stories from the Lincoln Highway in South Central Pennsylvania.

`Deer Hunters Wives' tells of the frustrations of Civil War tour guide Mandy (NATHALIE BOLTT), who obsesses on Jennie Wade, the only civilian killed at the battle of Gettysburg. While her friend June (CHRISTINE ELISE McCARTHY) struggles with an internet porn scheme to make extra money.

`What I Blieve' focuses on a man (KEVIN RAHM) who seeks the help of a Christian Scientist (WIL LOVE) to heal his back pain and explain the Big Foot that chased him down the mountainside.

`Original Bill' is the story of a writer (DAVID DeLUISE) who buys a farmhouse in the country hoping to find unique inspiration to write his novel. He is sidetracked by his Amish neighbor (DANA DELANY), who smokes, drinks, swears and secretly watches his TV.

This is the epitome of an indie film. Three stories in one from an area near where I grew up...and I've always loved Dana Delaney!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Funny Film, January 7, 2010

This review is from: Route 30 (DVD)
Our whole family enjoyed seeing the familiar Caledonia State Park and Gettysburg scenery we knew growing up in that area. The stories were funny, well done, and we especially enjoyed the extra biography of John Putch, who we remember fondly. I loved seeing the Totem Pole Theater, since I ushered there when I was in my teens. I wish John Putch much success with this clever film.

Funny! Highly recommend it to anyone who grew up in the area of Caledonia and the Totem Pole Playhouse and took the obligatory family trips to the Battlefield.
