This is a review of one specific book out of the library, the "Implementing Cisco Switched Networks (SWITCH) Foundation Learning Guide".
This book is poorly written and so full of errors that I find it hard to believe Cisco Press would put their name on it. It appears that it was written by a non-native-English speaker and no one took the time to correct basic grammar and syntax. On top of that much of the information is flat out wrong. One example out of many that I could reference, in the chapter 6 discussion of 802.1X there is a statement in parenthesis, which I'm assuming means it's important, "The port that the client is attached to is the supplicant [client] in the 802.1X specification.) A quick review of RFC 3580 has this to say about the supplicant:
"A Supplicant is an entity that is being authenticated by an
Authenticator. The Supplicant may be connected to the
Authenticator at one end of a point-to-point LAN segment or
802.11 wireless link."
That's just one glaring example of flat out mis-information. There are also multiple wrong review questions.
It appears the book was thrown together in a hurry with no quality control. I wish I had saved my money and bought a more accurate book. Hopefully the other books in the series or the Certifcation Guides will be better written.

Cisco boooks are cisco books. I have no complaints regarding this purchase! They shipped in great condition and in a timely manner. Definitely thorough reading for networking guys/gals.

This package contains 3 books, information content is quite good, quite up to date, focused a little CCDP, lacking a more interactive CD programs, but generally okay
