The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds' eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs' fortified castles. Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, lots of replay value, and Twitter and Facebook integration. Play more than 300 levels requiring logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy.

Your job is to help the Angry Birds seek vengeance against the pigs with the help of a finger-powered slingshot, a good dose of strategy, and a bit of luck.

The goal of the game is to catapult each bird toward the pigs, who hide behind a variety of destructible materials. Use each bird's unique skills to break through crates, boards, stone, ice, snow, glass, boulders, and dynamite to vanquish the devious pigs.

(This free version of the game is ad-supported. Purchase the full version of Angry Birds to enjoy the game without advertisements.)

Boom Goes the Dynamite
Angry Birds
The adventure begins with an empty nest

As you progress through the game, you'll learn each bird's strengths, the characteristics of the materials protecting the pigs, and how to trigger chain reactions that destroy the pigs and generate high scores. Snuff out the pigs with the fewest number of birds and the most damage possible to achieve three gold stars for each level.

Alter the game's look and feel by zooming in and out of each scene to get a better sense of where to launch your next bird. If you find the background is too distracting, you may turn it off to focus solely on the pigs and their soon-to-be crumbled fortifications.

Angry Birds features six episodes of physics-based puzzle solving. There's the Poached Eggs, Mighty Hoax, Danger Above, The Big Setup, Ham 'Em High, Mine and Dine, and Golden Eggs--a fun reward level.

Reviews for Angry Birds

"It's a very simple formula, but thanks to precise controls, great puzzle designs, and excellent atmosphere, Angry Birds is outrageously addictive. (Really, I am sleepy today because I played this until three in the morning.)"

"Angry Birds might not have a lot of extra features besides its single player mode, but to be honest, that mode alone makes the game a fantastic value." -TouchArcade

"The reaction of the objects as they topple and splinter, knocking other sections over and (if you're lucky) squishing the pigs within is a constant delight, and ensures that you'll play the same levels multiple times in a bid to get a full three-star rating. To all those who've been waiting - here comes a very good thing." -PocketGamer

Birds on a Mission
Angry Birds
Wreak havoc on the pigs' fortresses

The Angry Birds possess courage, dedication, and an enormous slingshot. What they need is a way to launch themselves toward those thieving pigs, and that's where you come in. Slide your finger across your touchscreen to pull the slingshot back and adjust the trajectory of each bird for maximum effect. Then, lift your finger from the screen to fling your avian friends toward their greedy green foes. Once the bird is in mid-flight, simply tap your screen at just the right moment to unleash its special ability.

The Sounds of Feathered Fury
Angry Birds
Crash the party with an unexpected dinner guest

The opening bass note and slower pace of the normally up-tempo Angry Birds theme music sets a fun, and mildly ominous, tone in the first stage of the Poached Eggs master level. It's an introduction to an award-winning sound design that adds a surprising sense of depth and movement to the game.

An audible backdrop of bird songs, taunting pig grunts, and anxious calls to action from our slingshot-loaded friends plays out against multiple layers of shifting background scenery.

Meet the Birds
Angry Birds
Persistence Pays Off
Angry Birds
Find bonus levels and other hidden content

Angry Birds rewards you with gilded goodies for different accomplishments:

• Golden Eggs: Poke your beak into hard-to-reach areas in both the levels and menus to find over 20 of these prizes (and counting!).

• Bonus Levels: Each golden egg represents an exciting bonus feature, usually an extra level. Enjoy explosive Rube Goldberg machines and new challenges aplenty.

• Angry Puzzles: Some golden eggs reveal a bonus screen housing a soundboard, a radio, an accordion, or other item. In addition to being a cute diversion, each of these is a puzzle that nets you a star when solved.

Play On!

If you can't get enough of these fearless heroes, try out Rovio's other Angry Birds apps. You'll discover new missions, villains, awards, unlockables, and of course--more reasons to love these Angry Birds.

Angry Birds Seasons

See the climates whiz past as you soar through the air towards those greedy swine: destroy their new seasonally-themed bases with your feathery firepower, good aim, and plenty of holiday cheer.

Angry Birds Rio

Angry Birds Rio pairs the physics-based gameplay of the original Angry Birds with themes and twists based on the 20th Century Fox animated film, Rio. Blu and Jewel--two rare macaws and the stars of Rio--make their gaming debut by acting as the center of the Angry Birds' rescue mission.

From Game to Phenomenon
Angry Birds

Mention Angry Birds and, chances are, people will know what you're talking about. The colorful birds and their furious purpose have catapulted themselves into an outright phenomenon.

The road to Angry Birds began in 2003, when three Finnish students entered a mobile-game development competition. Their game, King of the Cabbage World, was the first real-time, multiplayer game for mobile phones. The trio soon formed what would become Rovio.

Angry Birds was released in December 2009, after the iPhone and just as the Android universe started to explode--a climate ripe for innovation. The game achieved unprecedented success: to date, the game and its sequels have generated more than 50 million downloads.

Flash forward to now and Angry Birds is a household name, having made the leap from popular game to popular culture. YouTube videos providing tips and tricks, life-sized Angry Birds-themed sketches on Conan O'Brien, cuddly plush toys--they all come with the territory.

Regardless of what Angry Birds holds as a cultural touchstone, it's a safe bet that more games, more levels, and more birds are on the horizon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Game is great, Updates are dreadful... November 28, 2012
Verified Purchase
Yes, it's great to have an ad free version of Angry Birds, but it comes at some additional costs (and I'm not just talking about the .99 price). First off, the updates are painfully slow to roll out. If Rovio updates the free version in the Google Play store, it will be months before Amazon gets around to updating the paid version. That's unfortunately true for most items in the Amazon App Store, but it's especially true for all Angry Birds Games. It took them over 3 months to get this latest update out, that's simply unacceptable.

In addition to the slow updates by Amazon, the past two updates erase all of your progress. So if you're like me and been playing the game casually over the two years since it's been around... everything you've achieved will be gone. Even various backup apps that save game progress won't work with these updates. I find that very unfair considering the time many people devote to this game. There should at least be a warning, but there isn't. So... those are the prices you pay for an ad free experience. I hope things improve down the line.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's nice to have a legit ad-free option finally... March 22, 2011

The ads in the free version of Angry Birds were so intrusive, I installed Adfree just to get rid of them. Now I'm able to support the developer and not deal with any annoying ads, so kudos to Rovio and Amazon for finally providing this option to us.

Just to clear up any confusion, this paid copy of the game will install over your existing free copy of Angry Birds (go to the Updates menu in the Amazon app store on your phone to find it). All of your progress will be carried over into the paid version of the game, so you have nothing to fear from buying this!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy, Do Not Download! March 25, 2013
Verified Purchase
When the amazon appstore first opened, this was the first app I purchased and paid for. And I even bought the Mighty Eagle last week, which works as directed. But now, even though I though i was paying for the 'ad-free' version, I'm now getting notifications pushed to my device about the latest toon (which I had already seen). And trying to close the notification opens the app.

False advertising and a load of bull. I paid for the supposedly 'ad-free' version, and I'm getting push ads, the worst kind.

Do Not Download. And Do Not Buy. I paid for this version, and it's not even worth the price of free...

1.0 out of 5 stars Where is the update?! October 22, 2012

The Google Play Store got v2.3 back on 10/9. Why is it taking so long for Amazon to get the same update?! Very frustrating.

1.0 out of 5 stars For the 2nd time this year and update deleted my progress November 28, 2012
Verified Purchase
Somehow, Amazon's update, which came out several months after it was released on other platforms (such as Google Play) managed to delete my progress for the 2nd time this year. This is inexcusable. All my other Angry Birds games were purchased from Google Play and not once have their updates resulted in the deletion of all my progress. I will be deleting the Amazon App store from my phone.

Title says it all, really. I installed the latest update and I noticed that all my saved game data was gone. Just gone.

Something is very wrong with this, I must say.

3.0 out of 5 stars Something has to be done about the updates October 15, 2012

I cannot rate this higher until something is done about the update situation! After the absolute fiasco that was the AB Space update Amazon is now adding ridiculous delays to all updates.
Amazon blames Rovio, Rovio blames Amazon. I don't care! Somebody pick up the phone and talk to each other.
This is nuts!
