* UPDATE 10/21/14: Imposes FLURRY ANALYTICS on device to supposedly MONITOR your game play for help with fixes. However, after over 1 year of many users reporting Crashes, the Developer has not provided any FIXES via an update. STILL VER. 1.0.0 proves it.

Tiny Thief is a Fun and Challenging game but the main CHARACTER moves PAINFULLY SLOW!
Graphics are Cute and Funny at times. Music and Sound effects are decent and can be Muted but not adjusted.
Controls are just fair with Touch or Tap to Move character, Pick up items or Activate objects.
Theme is Cute. Figuring out needed Strategy and sequence of moves to complete each level can get difficult and sometimes Frustrating. HINTS are available by touching the Book icon on top right of screen but only 1 hint for every 4 hours of play (argh). Finding Hidden Objects can be hard since you have to feel your way through with no Instructions for each level. A Tutorial at start of game is OK but just pictures (No text).

Overall, it is OK but alternates from being Fun for a while and then Frustrating due to the following:

No written instructions makes the learning curve harder than it should be.
Controling character movement is not tremendously accurate, even on a 10" Tablet.
Movements are PAINFULLY SLOW so it affects your accuracy and you get killed often.
Finding and touching the TINY Ferrit that only appears very briefly in odd places is annoying!
Many users report CRASHES but Developer has done nothing to help them with this PAID APP!

NOTE: BE WARY of future Updates since ROVIO has a Reputation for updating apps with Tons of DATA-MINING Addons. I own all of ROVIO's previous games and every one had this TACTIC Spoil them so I DELETED THEM! It also seems to use up BATTERY quicker than most other apps.

Could be a decent game but needs improvements that Developer has not addressed after more than a year!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Cute Game October 18, 2013

I recommend Tiny Thief.

The game is cute, but I doubt I'll play it much myself. It seems more suited for a younger audience. When my granddaughter is old enough, she will undoubtedly get a kick out of it. It does require some thought at higher levels, though.

What bothers me is that Rovio claims the game is appropriate for users of all ages, but in their EULA, they state the app may link to WEB Sites that are not appropriate for children under the age of 13. As far as I know, this is applicable to all of their apps. If you install the game, you should take appropriate steps to protect younger players.

To get an idea what apps collect and do with that information, try to get in the habit of reading EULAs. For example, Rovio states:

• Please note that certain features of the Services may be able to connect to your social networking sites to obtain additional information about you.
• Personal data may be disclosed to third parties in accordance with applicable legislation and this Privacy Policy.

Know your apps!

But, it's not as bad as it may seem because, Tiny Thief works without internet access, at least after the license verification.

The permission for this app are quite acceptable (after you block internet access, if you are as private as I am) and well worth the download.

I generally never install non-board type 2D games, but I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. Try it for yourself or your kids. As the FAotD, it's a bargain; at its regular prices, I think it's worth the price Rovio has set.

Have fun!

One word comes to mind when describing Tiny Thief: ADORABLE! Seeing how I'm a big fan of Angry Birds, when I found out that Tiny Thief was produced by Rovio Stars, I instantly bought it from Google Play. For its price, there weren't a lot of levels. A total of 30 levels so far (six chapters). I hope there's an update soon!

That's not to say that the game isn't enjoyable. It's VERY fun and entertaining! I enjoyed every minute of it! The graphics are whimsical and polished. The characters are quirky and zany. The music is so charming and the story is reminiscent of a medieval period (but with playfulness and humor).

Your job (as the Tiny Thief) is to pilfer items without being detected by the guards. This is sort of a point and click game. You point to the area you want to go to (it's very area specific) then you click on the image of a hand (or other symbol) in order to grab or interact with the object. You can also go up/down ladders, hide in barrels and so forth. You start off with a tutorial that shows you how to play the game. It's very easy to learn (my nephew who is six, got the hang of the tutorial).

Often, Tiny Thief does honorable deeds such as saving a sad piggy from a cruel guard or returning money to a child which was stolen from a cruel, corrupt sheriff. So even though Tiny Thief steals, he has a big heart (like Robin Hood).

You can get past the guards, tyrants and ever-watchful characters by means of distraction and sneakiness. (For example: by making the guard chase a runaway chicken) If the guards or other character see you, you fail the mission and must repeat it. Luckily, you don't start at the very beginning of the level. Personally, I found the gameplay to be rather slow. I wish its pace was a bit faster.
