This Rovner ligature for bass clarinet features a double-textured body with T-Process polymer impregnation that permits the reed to vibrate more freely than with conventional metal ligatures. Fitted with corrosion-resistant metal fittings, the unique design allows reed to swell and shrink without distorting the reed body, reducing the likelihood of leakage at the facing, and peculiar modes of vibration that give rise to uneven scales, poor intonation, squeaks, and raspiness. The Rovner Dark Series Ligatures assist in producing a full, centered tone comparable to that of the old string technology. Classical performers especially enjoy the warm sound.

This ligature is well worth the price I paid for it. Over the past several years, I have played bass clarinet using several different ligatures, some of which I paid more than 3 times as much for. This Rovner ligature is definitely one of the best, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

The Rovner Ligature works very well. The single tightening screw is convenient, and it holds the reed in place without damaging the reed like some of the metal ligatures do. I'd highly recommend this product.
