5.0 out of 5 stars Uncanny In Its Simplicity
I put this book on my very short list of favorite spiritual books that I feel are the cream of the crop. I hold this book in such high esteem because it is simple and direct, easy to apply, but most importantly the content is significant. 1.0 out of 5 stars Bait and Switch
I was excited when this book arrived and loved the first part of the book. The preface, introduction, and the first chapter were great. Huge let down in Chapter 2 when the author switches from "God is within you" mentality to "God is the parent" mentality (pictures of Morgan Freeman, George Burns or Father-Time flood my head). He even says in the introduction "It is...

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncanny In Its Simplicity, July 9, 2007
By
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
I put this book on my very short list of favorite spiritual books that I feel are the cream of the crop. I hold this book in such high esteem because it is simple and direct, easy to apply, but most importantly the content is significant. What the Author is trying to show you is how to have living faith. Living faith separates the believers from the feelers. You can believe in something with all the strength of your mind, but it will never become real to you until you feel it. I have had a very hard time in my life following my heart, or should I say, feeling the spirit within me.
We can feel the spirit as something real, guiding us in everything we do in life, answering our prayers, and providing peace and comfort. What I am striving to do is feel my living spirit inside me. I need proof. I have never been able to find it in the expectations of my plans. Instead I find it within the ways life shows me all the times I have repeatedly refused to let go.
There is a quote from the Urantia Book that describes what is being done with Steven Lane Taylor's book. "Blind and unforeseen accidents do not occur in the cosmos. Neither do the celestial beings assist the lower being who refuses to act upon his light of truth". Row Row Row Your Boat will help you see that you are being assisted so that you can take action to add fulfillment to your life. I want to also add that I think that the simplicity of the presentation along with the quality of the content of this book is nothing short of sublime.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Book!, April 10, 2004
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
This book was about the 3rd huge knock in the head God had sent me to give up trying to control everything in my life and everyone else's life so I bought the book and read it. It's a quick read but very deep and very moving. I am so glad I read this book. I think that this book could help many of us look at how we live our lives and bring more trust in God/Higher Power, ourselves and in others. And it will make you think about everyone you encounter and all the things that happen to you. It has started me on (I hope) a more peaceful journey though my life. What a wonderful way to think of a classic song "Row, row, row, your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream."

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, yet profound, August 21, 2007
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
Life doesn't have to be so complicated and success--however we define it--is closer than we think. Steven Lane Taylor reminds us what we know deep down to be true and shows us how to live it every day. I especially appreciate his messages about paying attention to what's going on around us and within us, letting go of the illusion of control and trusting that the universe will provide for our highest good. This is a book I will read again and again, and share it with my children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Struggle is optional!, May 14, 2005
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
This book is a delightful read. Steven Lane Taylor guides us in opening to the everyday miracles that simplify and bring joy into our lives. In a light and entertaining manner, he clearly demonstrates how our efforts to control create struggle in our lives. He shows us, in very doable steps, how to let go and reap the benefits of being in the flow. This book is one of those rare owner's manuals life should have come with. Read it. Anytime you find life being hard, read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide For Living Life In The Div, April 26, 2005
By
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
A brilliant and inspirational presentation of that simple, yet
powerful idea. The stories used were ones that I could certainly relate to and your explanation of metaphysical terms would make it easy for anyone to understand the principles. Taylor has a great ability to communicate an idea with
clarity and enthusiasm. I will definitely reccomend this book to our congregation. Sometimes we become so goal-oriented and into demonstrating the fulfillment of our dreams, that we forget to let go and trust. I think the Western approach to spirituality is a goal-oriented approach, whereas the Eastern approach is the let go and trust the Universe and get our egos out of the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars A modern day "everyman's" guide to enlightenment, October 24, 2004
By
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
This slim volume offers a modern approach to ancient wisdom. It's simplicity is refreshing; it's message profound. In an entertaining, narrative story form this writer makes the deepest Truths accessable and memorable. It's the kind of book that after you read it, you'll want to buy it for all your loved ones.
Row, Row, Row is not your average self-help book. It's a real life changer.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a wonderful gift, March 24, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
What a great book! This book takes metaphysical/spiritual concepts that some struggle with and makes them so easy to understand. It gives so many practicle applications of the concepts instead of just giving you something to ponder on. With this book, it's easy to actually take action to improve your life. It's all about making life easier and learning to go with a divine flow. It doesn't matter what faith you are or if you're just beginning on your spiritual journey, this is a great book for anyone. Thanks Steven for such a wonderful gift!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Handy Little Pick-me-up!, May 12, 2007
This review is from: Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow (Hardcover)
"Row, Row, Row Your Boat" is wonderful inspiration for a down day. The concept isn't new - that's the point. However, Steven Lane Taylor puts it into an easy to digest, enjoyable form. He lets the reader see his human failings, so he doesn't come off as a guru preaching about some secret only he knows. It's a book I'll tuck away, so I can re-read it when I feel I'm swimming upstream. All this without hype. Now, that's a treat!Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories
