Drip, drip, drip arrrrrrgh!,
By
This review is from: Rowenta ActiPress Iron DM 160 (Kitchen)
I bought into the whole Rowenta name thing. I got the Rowenta Actipress home, read the directions, re-read the directions (I've never paid so much for an iron in my life, wanted to get it right). Yes, stainless steel soleplates are lovely and glide and hover all over your clothes. But, as I finished the final sleeve of my hubby's XL Linen shirt ...drip, Oh did I hit the mist button, no checked that, drip, drip, leak, drip. Before the ironing was over 2 almost finished linen shirts had to go into the laundry again because of the water marks ugh! I HATE that! So, I returned the Rowenta and got the T-Fal diffusion iron also with 1400 watts, approx. the same weight, and a nice smooth soleplate that emits the same amount of steam for HALF the price and NO DRIPS!
By the way, with the Rowenta I tried everything in the directions, turning up the heat, using tap water- then using half and half as the directions advise if you have hard water --nothing helped this thing just drips and leaks.

Terrific Value and Quality,

I got this iron a week ago and wish I had more ironing to do! I had been using an iron that I have had for about 10 years and boy should I have bought this one a long time ago! I used to dread ironing. This iron has me searching for more wrinkled clothes to iron!<br />
<br />
It is lightweight, easy to use. Very smooth ironing and perfect steam control. The burst of steam function works wonders for ironing in creases -- and eliminates the need for spray starch or sizing spray.<br />
<br />
It has a self clean function that, although I have not had it long enough to need yet, will be a great feature to have!<br />
<br />
I definitely recommend this to anyone who hates to iron and needs a new iron!

no vertical steam,

I purchased this iron at Target a month ago. When I first used it the steam button didn't give a burst of steam. I exchanged it for another one thinking the first one was defective. I am still having a steam problem. When I push the steam button nothing happens. Other wise the iron is great. I am dissapointed I don't have vertical steam and am considering returning it for a different type of iron.

Awesome iron!!,

I've been ironing clothes for my family for over ten years, and this is by far, the best iron I have ever used. I've tried the Black & Deckers, Panasonics, etc, but the Rowenta has been the easiest one to use. The stainless steel bottom plate makes the iron go super smoothly over clothing and gets rid of creases without you having to put down much pressure at all. It is very light and does a lot of work with minimal effort from you. It makes ironing rough jeans and other types of fabric a breeze. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants an excellent quality and affordable product!

Excellent Rowenta,
This review is from: Rowenta ActiPress Iron DM 160 (Kitchen)
I purchased this iron because I was tired of getting Black and Deckers. I must say, I am very pleased with the performance of this iron. The wrinkles come out the first time without having to go behind myself to remove excess wrinkles. You also are able to iron easy without applying much pressure unlike most irons. I highly recommend this iron, it is definitely worth the price.

Total burn out!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rowenta ActiPress Iron DM 160 (Kitchen)
Had this iron for less than 4 months. Given to us as a wedding gift. Now it lets off smoke like the place is burning down, set off the smoke detector even when it seemed to be working fine. The vertical steam didn't work well and it didn't glide smoothly on clothes. But since it was given to us as a gift and we have no receipt we can't even use their limited warranty. I will never buy a Rowenta product again!

Hot BUY!,

After years (really!) of using my mom's cast off irons, I finally decided it was time for my own. I bought a Rowenta and I could not be more pleased. It has a little weight to it, which really does help the whole ironing process, a smooth face plate to glide along the fabrics and easy to use settings. Just be careful filling it as if water is poured too quickly, it will bubble out. My mom (and Dad, he is the real one who irons) has been devoted to Rowenta for many years, whenever she wanted a new iron, I simply took the other one and had many more years of service from it. This time mine is brand new out of the box and I think it is money well spent. Incidentally, when I bought mine it was on a price cut till 12/21/03 for ten dollars less in the store. Of course that ten dollar savings went right back to Target as I bought a new ironing board pad and cover too! (Michael Graves.....NICE)

Worth the money,
By A Customer

My previous iron was shot so I went to Consumer Reports and reviewed irons. Rowenta, as well as several others, received high marks. I bought a Sunbeam because it was cheaper. Brought it home and it was awful - the aluminum soleplate dragged across the fabric. I took it back and bought the Actipress for more money. It was worth it. It ironed khakis the first time, leaving a beautiful crease. Plenty of steam, not too heavy and it fits my hand, which is large. If you like to iron or just need to, why not get the job done easily the first time.
