I have used several irons over a period of 25 years of marriage. I usually buy the least expensive ones, but this time I decided to splurge on myself and buy a Rowenta. I am so glad that I did as it was one of my best investments. It makes my ironing a breeze. I do quilting and I love the steam and the large water capacity. It is a great iron - I wished I had bought it years earlier!

Worth every cent. To use tap water is wonderful!

The secret to this iron is steam, and it has loads of it. I was using an inexpensive B&D iron that I picked up at a garage sale. It bit the dust and now I'm ironing with the top of the line. Well it's hardly a fair comparison but I'm glad I got this one. I hate to iron and this iron makes the work go faster as I rarely pass over the same spot twice.

The wrinkles are gone, the creases are firm, If you accidently crease the fabric, and I admit to only testing this on cotton, you can blast it with steam, re-iron and its gone. No other iron I have ever used did this. The rest just left the crease in until the next washing.

Cost, well it made me blanch, but mine was a gift and I'm not returning it!

This is my third Rowenta iron and they have all served me well, but this is by far the best. The steam is amazing. You only have to made one pass on most items. I know it is a lot of money for an iron but it is worth every penny for the time it saves.

I purchased the Rowenta DM-990 after buying and returning other makes of irons. The Rowenta by far out performed any of the other irons I had tried. The Rowenta makes ironing easy and fast. Even at lower temperatures, it does not leak or spit.
The variable steam settings with the Burst of Steam and the Mist feature are very useful. It is easy to fill and clean. The Rowenta is well worth the extra cost.

How do you get this iron to a HOT setting? When I turn what I think it is, the iron spits out water and gunk?? Please advise, otherwise I would like this iron if it would work. No booklet came in my box I would appreciate any HELP in this matter.

This is the best iron! I quilt a lot and the precision and weight of the iron is unbeatable. Great for creasing. The steam is powerful and abundant. I disagree with the other review that says that you need to reset it after it automatically shuts off. Theirs might have been faulty. The automatic shut-off is a life saver and all you need to do is tilt it to have it turn back on. If you can find one of these - get it. Ironing will never be fun but it should be hassle free!

I had a Black & Decker auto shut-off for 16-1/2 years when the sensors quit working. It was a great iron. Could not find another B&D I liked, and then saw the Rowenta Ultra Professional. It looked good and what I was looking for in an iron, so I brought it home. Found out that when I turned it on, I not only had to turn it to a setting, but I also had to move it somehow before it would start to heat up. Then, it only steamed at the highest setting. When I finally got it to heat up, I found it not to be balanced and, therefore, not comfortable to use. So, I'm taking it back and going in further search of a B&D I like (I found a couple on the internet in case I don't find something in a store).
