This "300 Hole" iron only has 27 holes that go all the way through the sole-plate! The rest are either fully, or partially blocked by plastic. I called Rowenta and they said, "Well, that's how it's made. SOME steam gets through the partially blocked holes."!!! When I pointed out that their advertising 300 holes on this model, and 400 on their "better" models is an obvious attempt to indicate that they have a more effective iron because more steam gets through, and that other brands have a MINIMUM of 27 holes, which is the actual number of full-through holes they have, I just got "dead air" in response! I discovered this when prepping the iron and noticing white stuff coming out of the steam holes onto my ironing board, like little pieces of styro-foam. When I looked at the holes closely, they seemed to be blocked with this stuff, but it turned out that I was looking at the plastic blocking the "holes"! The entirely rude Customer "Service" staff (CS staffs are routinely rude when you bust the company for fraud or poor manufacturing, I have discovered), said I could return it for inspection, but if they found "nothing wrong" with the iron, it would just be returned, and THAT outcome would be "entirely likely" as the plastic blocking the holes is how the product is constructed. I decided to try to use the iron anyway, as $40 is about as cheap an iron as you can get unless it's pure junk, and found it to be very ineffective for anything but "no-iron" or "touch-up ironing" type fabrics. 75-100% cotton fabrics were not handled well by this model, and the water tank emptied at about every one and a half men's dress shirts!! Deceptive product with poor performance = 1 Star and a return from me! Iron is too light and a fraud on the part of Rowenta. Don't bother!!

I love the style but I returned it because it came looked used. Already had some water residue inside. The plate had light scratching. The box looked clearly opened Previosly. The side had a slight scratched as well. Was not pleased at all with that purchased. Otherwise I would have kept it probably

I did my research on a new iron and This came up every time I looked for one that replaced my Shark. The only little thing that i have with this is that it leaks water sometimes, but other than that it's running like a champ. I say buy this and you will not go wrong.

I won't use any other iron. This one doesn't leave deposits on my clothes, it's easy to use, moves nicely, and doesn't leak.

I bought this after my old iron stopped working properly. What I like is when using steam, it heats up quickly and disperses the steam evenly without making my clothes wet. The best way to iron is with the steam. What I don't like is that without steam, the iron doesn't do a very good job at removing wrinkles.
