Disappointing,

This review is from: Rowenta DZ5065 Focus Stainless-Steel 1700-Watt Iron, Pink (Kitchen)
I have owned several Rowenta irons in the past. I have loved them all except this one. It started leaking within five weeks after we received it. It irons OK but it leaks now and this is just not acceptable for an iron that cost this much. If you want a good iron, go to Target and if it doesn't function properly you can alway return it for full refund. According to Amazon, I can not get a refund.

I love absolutely everything about this iron except that the handle is a little big for someone with small hands. After ironing for a while, my hand begins to ache. I have to point out that I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hundreds of steam holes and that this iron comes with it's own water container to fill it. I always bothered me that I had to use my own measuring cups and forgot where I put them.

Well, maybe not, but this is a close as I have come to enjoying the task. This iron glides over fabrics, and leaves a lovely smooth path. It heats quickly, and makes fast work of a stack of shirts. The pointed tip fits nicely into cuffs and along buttons.
Plus the pink appeals to my inner girl.

Rowenta DZ5065 Focus, Iron for Pink - Breast Cancer Research Foundation,

This is a FANTASTIC iron! Quilters will LOVE it! It has a wonderful point for opening those seams and WOW what about that STEAM! It puts out so much steam that if you have ever thought about purchasing a steam press you could do with just this iron alone. I have used only Rowenta irons since the early 1980's and I still use all three that I have purchased. This iron is a most welcomed addition to my quilt studio!

I had used the Rowenta at a quilt shop and liked its weight and the pointed end to get at the seams to get them to lay flat. This is a great iron. Easy to use and moves smoothly. Plus I love the fact that part of the money goes to a good cause.
A couple of things I found a tad strange. There's no on/off switch and it doesn't switch off automatically if you forget to unplug it. It does flash a red signal and goes cold but it doesn't switch off. The cord has a nodule [for want of a better word] that makes standing it on its end a little more difficult. I bought a cord minder to lift the cord upwards off the board so it's no longer a problem. I also pay attention to make sure the plate is kept clean. Even with these two things, I like this iron a whole lot. Since I got it on sale and used my Amazon rewards coupon, I paid less than I did for my Black and Decker iron!

Amazing Iron!,

This iron blew me away. Even my husband, who does iron occasionally, couldn't believe the difference all those steam holes make. He was able to do a nice job on a cotton shirt using steam only--no spray starch.
Of course, all that steam means refilling more often, but it's worth it. Frankly, that's the only negative I can think of. I've been using it for about a week now and I've done massive quantities of ironing (I always put it off before because it was such a chore). Ironing isn't fun but this iron takes a lot of the misery out of it. I'm so impressed with the product that I'm going to purchase Rowenta's ironing board.

finding a good iron is no easy task.
through my student days I managed with a cheapo iron from target. After complaining to my mother about how it didnt really get the wrinkles out, she pointed out the finer points of a good iron - and this iron has them. *It's wattage is high enough = heats well, quickly and evenly *it has a big water container = dont have to fill up too often and this one has a filter integrated in it so you can use tapwater * it has lots and lots of steam holes = the iron glides over the surface well and doesnt feel heavy * I like this product because it is PINK. Also like it because it has a pointed tip that gets into all the corners and irons everything well. * I also liked the price! I looked around a lot before purchasing and this really was the best bang for your buck. I heard some reviews about the iron dripping etc. So far I havent witnessed that at all. The trick might be to start with cooler settings for delicates and then move on to hotter temps for cottons and linens.

A quilter's thoughts on Rowenta irons,

I received this iron last week and loved it from the moment I took it out of the box. I really like the pointy tip for pressing seams. It heats up quickly and has plenty of steam. I wish that it had a larger water reserve. I totally love the pink color. In fact I orderd two more irons for backups. I approve of this iron for the Breast Cancer Research.

I just love this iron. It is so professional and is made of such good quality material. I will never by any other brand. The company I bought the iron from on Amazon was wonderful. It just shows that much of the time things are wondersful.
Thanks. I will always order on Amazon before Ebay anyday:)

This is the worst iron I have ever owned. I am a quilter and I have to use spray starch in order to get this thing to even press a seam properly on cotton and the temperature is set on high! If you have a cotton article of clothing that is just ever so slightly wrinkled..forget about it. Don't waste your money. I happened to mention to 2 other quilters about my Rowenta and they said they had them in the past and they were not happy with them at all and would never own one again. I just bought a Panasonic cordless and I love it!! Good bye Rowenta forever!! If I could, I would give this no stars!
