Other highlights include a maximum-capacity indicator to prevent overfilling, a hose that locks/releases at the touch of a button, and a lightweight design at only 4-1/2 pounds. Convenient to carry, set up, and use, the unit provides an easy-grip carrying handle on top, a cool-touch hose that wraps around the base, steam-head storage on the side, and wrap-around cord storage around the base. With its well-balanced ergonomic design, the steamer measures approximately 15 by 10-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Great compact steamer.,

I think this machine is great. First off, it's nice and compact. Your able to hide the power cord underneath the base of the unit, the hose easily wraps around the top portion and the head of the steamer slides into place so it's not dangling off the unit. Included in the box is a storage bag for your attachments, so you don't lose them. I used this just last night to steam a sueded slip cover for a couch that's been in a bag for over 2 years and it worked like a dream, it took out every wrinkle. It heated up very quickly and produced enough steam to get out any wrinkle. It did get a tad hot around the head of the steamer if you kept your hand there too long, also it makes a gurgling noise as it heats up, but that dissipates after it's up and running. Other than that, it's a great item. I would totally buy another one. If I may dispense some advice (I worked in retail for several years and worked with professional steamers on a daily basis. If you have light garments like silks, cover the steamer head with a knee hi or stocking to protect the garment from oversteaming whatever elements are in the water and always steam from the inside of your garment - never on the outside. Rowenta is a really good name and usually produce good quality items. I almost didn't buy this because of some of the reviews. I guess you take a chance on everything you buy.

if i had the space, i would be all over one of those jiffy 2000 series steamers. but i don't. this rowenta model is compact and nicely designed, but for one thing: it is not continuous steam. instead, it steams for a minute or so, then "rests" for 15 seconds before getting up another head of steam. i haven't seen the leaking problems mentioned in the other review, so i'll give this a lukewarm 2 stars.

I had bought this as I'd gotten tired of lugging out the ironing board and bending over to iron. at first use it was great and I had high hopes that it would alleviate all the aches and pains I usually experience with ironing.
I agree with S.Yee in that the unit does have problems at the hose connection to the unit...in my case it actually came apart-or to be more accurate, the hose came out of the elbow connection. and the worse of it was it happened after only 2 uses. I hadn't had the leaking problems nor did I have experience the a"resting period" W.Welch had...in fact until the hose disconnected I was able to steam about 2 dozen shirts only refilling once. As I said, it showed such promise but I can only give it 2 stars because of the "disconnection" problem--otherwise, I may have given it a 4 or more because it definitely had alleviated the aches and pains I usually have after a bout of ironing and it did a great job. Fortunately, I had purchased my steamer at Kohl's and they have a great return policy. one "trick" I had discovered...you need to keep the clothes taut to be able to use it to it's best...or find a nice flat wall (that won't damage) to do your "ironing" on...
