5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Graphics yet Inexpensive!
One of the best graphics programs on the market that you can get for your money. Easy to use, good results and the possibilities are endless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Easy to Begin
Photosuite looks like it will be a good program if I can ever learn how to use it. I think it would be easy if there were any instructions provided with the program. There is a booklet provided with the program that shows what you can do with the program but not how to do it. Very frustrating! I can see the tools on the screen but can't get them to work. I do not appreciate having to spend my very limited time trying to make the program do things I am sure it can do. I don't mind printing a users manual from a readme file but the readme file appears to be only for trouble shooting. I would not recommend this program simple because of the lack of documentation available.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid This Product, September 3, 2002

While PhotoSuite 4.0 has some interesting features, it's quirks outweigh any benefits they might offer.

On the plus side: it's guides to enhancing and cropping photos are simple and straightforward -- but then, so are most of the better imaging software.

On the negative side: when you create an album of photos, the pictures remain where they originally were stored on your hard drive. Which makes uploading them to a printing service (say, Ofoto) extremely complicated, difficult and frustrating. Further, because of this approach it is easy to erase a picture unintentionally.

Also of note: to talk to a support technician will cost you...!! So if you do have problems, the cost of getting help is nearly as much as the software itself.

I'm back on Amazon to find decent imaging software. Not only can't I recommend PhotoSuite, but based on the problems I've had with other Roxio products, I can't recommend the company either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poor documentation, December 27, 2001

This product came bundled with my digital camera. I would not recommend that anyone purchase this product. There is very little documentation provided. The "help" function is not organized well and it is difficult to find answers to your questions. If you are new to digital photography, you will be frustrated with the program.

I have used this product for a year now, and am very disappointed with its performance and ease of use.

I move on to Paintshop pro.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Found It...Love Photo SUITE 4.0!!!, August 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PhotoSUITE 4.0 (CD-ROM)
We had this installed in our computer back when we first got it in '02 so when it broke down for some reason last year... PhotoSUITE all of a sudden disappeared and the computer kid geek put some other photo thing in there because we lost the PhotoSuite 4.0 we don't know what happened...I know that there are all the new ones out there that we are supposed to be using...but my husband and I got so comfortable and used to this one that of course you couldn't find it at the stores anymore. Thank God for Amazon and the woman who had a brand new one!!!!! ebay didn't even have them! So I am so grateful to have found this on here! It is a VERY, VERY easy system to use for us NOT so computer savvy people!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite program!, November 30, 2010

I've been using MGI Photosuite 4 since about 1996 and have used it on thousands of photos (I worked in a photography business). I still use it with XP. It's fast and easy, and the cloning tool is superb. I only go elsewhere (Adobe Elements 4) for resizing, changing resolution, and sharpening ("unsharpen"). Too bad that MGI sold this to Roxio. As soon as Roxio got it, they threw it out and replaced it with a horrid little children's program called Roxio Photosuite 5. It was garbage. I never went back. Roxio was nuts to not build on what MGI had created. I haven't trusted them ever since.

5.0 out of 5 stars PhotoEdit Intermediate Level - Excelent Tool - Intuitive Menus, October 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PhotoSUITE 4.0 (CD-ROM)
I purchased my original copy of MGI PhotoSUITE 4 perhaps 14 years ago. I subsequently purchased 5 & 7 after Roxio bought it from MGI. Both 5 & 7 became muddled with too many extras and non-intuitive menu changes. Presently I own Photoshop Elements 7 and CS2 as well as Corel Paint Shop Pro X3. Both do different things better, but for quick basic editing of photos nothing beats the intermediate level intuitive menu capabilities of PhotoSUITE 4. The JPEG loss is low with a setting on the Save Option menu - very important. PhotoSuite 4 was used on most of my work at [...].

I now do wedding photography professionally. I advocate the modern life candid approach using my shots and those of friends and relatives of the Bride & Groom. All are gathered, I edit them and make the range of range formats; TV-DVD,and formats for mobile use: smart phones, MP3/4 players, E-Mail etc. The formats are easy, but editing is the time consuming part. I recommend PhotoSuit, it is quick and sufficient for all of the basics. Crop to standard size is highly important. With PhotoSUITE one can chose a specific size; 4x6, 8x10 etc. In modern PS and Corel one must look around to set the size; with PhotoSUITE it is a drop down and click menu. I lost my original copy and needed a new one to set up a new computer, Amazon to the rescue with quick delivery of a quality product at a reasonable price. (works on XP) Thank you Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, April 13, 2004

I was replacing my (corruted) MGI photosuite with this product and was gravely disappointed. I couldn't do simple retrievals from clip art discs and found the online help worthless. I threw it away the next day, chalked it up as a cheap mistake, and bought Photo Explosion instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stopped working after 4 months, April 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: PhotoSUITE 4.0 (CD-ROM)
I own this product. It's hard to use. There are no instructions. The albums are not albums, they are virtual albums. It is laborious and slow to print from it. The CD became corrupted after 4 months of use and can no longer be loaded on my computer. It does not work with WIndows MIllenium.
The only positive: you can crop photos with ease.
