5.0 out of 5 stars Among the Legends at Manchester United, Keane is the "working man's legend", April 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you have purchased this book, then chances are pretty good that you have already witnessed some of the man's exploits... good or bad. Keane was an enforcer for Sir Alex Ferguson's United teams from 1993 to 2005, during which, he was Captain for 8 years.

Let's be perfectly honest, you either loved Keano, or you hated his guts and this book beautifully brings this aspect of Keane's personality to the fore. He was (to put it lightly) an extremely rough, aggressive player in United's midfield. As well, off the field, he was a man who knew his own monetary value, as his wage demands turned more than a few managers against him. However, who could possibly argue that he was worth every pound? This biography lays it all out there: it's up to you to be honest enough to decide whether or not you would have done things the same way as Roy Keane.

So, for better or for worse, here is Roy Keane -- a man not to be denied -- and for that inextinguishable fire residing in him, he was the "working man's legend" at Manchester United, for we can all see our own faults within Keane's own style.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keano - one of the very best!, January 31, 2003
By A Customer
Roy Keane is undoubtably one of the greatest football players currently playing, and his life outside the game is equally enjoyable to follow. His intensity and larger-than-life persona on and off the pitch make any bio of Keano worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Tightness, January 30, 2003
By A Customer
This is the best book I've ever read. It tells all about Captain Tightness. This is a more choice novel than Catcher in the rye. Roy Keane is a better role model than Holden Caulfield ever was. Captain Tightness will teach you and your kids how to cleat the opponent without getting caught (or carded ha ha ha).
