I bought this audio Bible as a present for my mother, she already had the Franklin bible but since it is not audio I purchased this for her. This Royal ATB3 is very light weight and easy to use, the features are really nice and the screen is ok to read along as you listen but the only (well actually a big problem) is that the voice reading the bible sounds like a computer so she doesn't want to listen to that and neither do I, since it is much smaller and lighter than her Franklin bible she can use this to read the bible when she is at the doctor's office and will probably never use the play function. There is a usb port so maybe I will be able to download a better sounding mp3 bible and listen to that. Overall since I did purchase this for an audio bible I would not recommend or buy this again for that but if you just want a portable/digital bible without sound this is great and much cheaper than the Franklin Holy Bible. This pullout keyboard works fine and speakers on this are very good.

I saw this on one of the shopping channels and had to have it. It basically contains the Kings James Version of the bible and the following:

1. World English Bible

6. Scheduler

8. Defragmentation
9. Contrast Control
10. Volume
11. System

I personally file like an audio bible should just have the bible on it; the rest of the above stuff is not necessary. T

Pros:
1. The audio voice is loud and clear
2. You can do keyword searches
3. There is a calculator, alarm clock, scheduler and other stuff
4. 52 week bible reading plan
5. Compact

Cons:
1. You can't read the entire bible verse yourself without constantly having to readjust because when you scroll down, it doesn't do it by line but by how can fit on the screen.

2. Very rarely will the entire verse appear on the screen so you are constantly scrolling

3. The searches are not boolean but phrase or word which means you can't rule out various bible verses by and or or

4. The qwerty keyboard doesn't slide out quickly

5. To find a particular bible verse you have to know whether it is in the NEW or OLD testament because the device asks you that before it looks.

6. Keys aren't always clear: Q-JMP is the key for going back and forth between favorite bible verses

Overall, I think this is a good item.

Update: I sold it. I did not find it that easy to access passages quickly!

Bought this for my husband who is studying to be a preacher, this really helps him pronounce the names of places and people in the bible.

First and foremost, The Electronic Bible came promptly at 12:30 pm est (is still daylight savings time) 09.21.2010. The box mildly damaged but the unit was in "Class A" condition. I didn't know it was audio but I am so glad! And the instructions; after about fifteen minutes of reading I was able to find the bible passages for next Sunday's service in no time. Thank goodness it is a QWERTY keyboard. My right hand is down for the count but being a former touch typist. I'm not having any problems working the buttons.

My only complain is the ear buds. They won't stay in "my" ears so I'm using a spare of ear buds that have soft tips. Mine you, I'm talking about my ears so don't get concerned.

I bought this as a gift and had my first exposure when it was opened. The unit is relatively small, which is a plus. With the keyboard in, it fits in one hand nicely and the most often used controls are readily accessible. As has been said, the keyboard makes this unit feel cheap and can be difficult to slide out. The screen is clunky, but about what can be expected for the size and price.

The person I bought this for is blind and the buttons and placement are very hard to navigate. The bible has excellent speach, but none of the menus or even selections are spoken. I was able to provide a bit of guidance to make the device somewhat usable, but unless you have the order of the books of the bible memorized (I don't) in order to know how many BEEPS to go in the menu, you will never find the book, chapter, or verse you are looking for.

I had found a used, older, cheap Franklin Bible at a yardsale that I purchased for my wife and we were impressed with how nice it was and easy to carry around with you. Well I wanted one too so I purchased my Brand New "Royal ATB3" I loved it I could not only read the Bible BUT I could listen to it. I had planned on reading the Bible through with the help of my new Royal ATB3. I found that sometimes it missed whole verses when reading(skip over a verse and go to the next one) it also repeated some of the verses down in the wrong place. I had it about 4 months when one day it wouldn't turn on. I replaced the batteries thinking they had died to quick only to find it still wouldn't work. I tested the batteries and they were fine, I even bought another pack and another kind of batteries to see if another kind would work, and nothing. I hit the reset and still nothing. My wife's used, older, cheap yardsale Franklin Bible is still going used every day, but my $40. Royal ATB3 is dead. I wouldn't buy another Royal product. We feel I just wasted $40. buying it.

I purchased five of these bibles at Christmas of 2010 for my grandchildren and two of my daughters to be able to listen to the Bible whenever they wished. These audio bibles have not worked 50% of the time, now they do not work at all and i am being told the return time has passed. Even with the constant new batteries they are still not working. :( I am very disappointed! I personally have used the Audio bible from spokenwordofgod.org,that has solar and plug in recharge for several years without problems. i listen approximately 2 hours a day without problems. i cannot understand why this audio bible from Royal is so contrary and i am unable to get a refund or a replacement. This is a great audio bible. When scrolling through the verse, the same words are on the next page, so you have to look to the bottom of the verse to read where you left off reading. But overall, I love the audio bible. I did not have any direction but when you play around with it, you will figure it out.

Despite the Man made errors and misinterpretations Believe I Know The king James version Is The true Bible but Is suppose to be Interpret by Apostle Prophets Anointed by The Holy Ghost that has The Foundation and Knows history and Laws of Nature and common sense. Once You learn to use It works well. I think Its just a matter of opinion If You like the voice or Not and It does have a volume control but It Is In the program. It scrolls while Reading. It also has some other useful features as clock, calculator. What I did Not like and reason did Not get 5 stars Is because the one word search It will only search one word at a time It will Not process two or more words In a Scripture then find that Scripture, I had a Franklin Bible that would do that and The Bible I have that only works with Microsoft will do that but to keep from getting viruses I use Linux on line and when I Am on YouTube doing battle with Them with false doctrines sometimes I have to look up scriptures that Is why I bought this, Not only that This Is easy to carry around. And also Royal cost less than Franklin, I Am so sick of over priced stuff.

I read reviews on this where people were concerned because the voice sounded like a robot...um, who cares? It sounds fine to me..Yes, the key board pull out is a little hokey...but you have the bible at your finger tips, it has 2 versions of the word, it has voice in kjv, calendar, contact storage,scheduler, an alarm, and a clock...I like it A LOT!
