At first glance I thought there were roses in the center, also, but it is the holiday design with Christmas decorations ~ beautiful, though. This platter is really large, great for buffet serving, not only of meats, but desserts, etc. also. The price I paid was fantastic, but now, I see it has gone higher.

Nice platter but not exactly like in the picture...
this one has Christmas balls in the middle.
