For an intermittent user who uses a desktop shredder only a couple of times a week for junk mail, this will suffice. But it feels tinny and jams with fewer than 6 sheets. It also does not run the paper all the way through so paper is always stuck in the blades.

This shredder will shred the advertised number of sheets of paper, but it has to work at it. We generally don't shred more than a couple sheets at a time, so it has worked fine so far. It is not as powerful as our previous shredder, so time will tell how long it lasts.

Well, after 3 months of light use, it is broken. It started grinding up paper into long strips instead of cross-cutting. This must have caused it to work harder, so before long, it just quit. Royal requires the customer to pay shipping both to and from their warranty department so this shredder is going in the trash.
