2008 Holiday album, A Royal Christmas by Paris Bennett who earned national recognition as the fifth place finalist in the fifth season of American Idol. Randy Jackson says she 'has the lineage', refering to talent and training from her mother and grandmother, Jameein Venzett Bennett and Ann Nesby, both former singers in the Sounds of Blackness. Paula Abdul called Bennett 'incredible' and Simon Cowell asked where she 'had been hiding'.

After her scattershot debut album Paris Bennett, a finalist at American Idol season 5, returns to what she knows best - jazzy music. She does a great job with her band, creating fresh versions of old classics and delivering a couple of new songs. I especially enjoyed hearing the witty rendition of 12 Days of Christmas, and Li'l Drummer Boy was the coolest version I have ever heard.
As Stevie Wonder, Brian May of Queen, Rod Stewart said: Paris has a great future in music.

I am among those who wasn't thrilled with Paris' debut album. Since I love X-mas music, and at one time really liked Paris, I decided to get this one too. Generally I like X-mas music best traditional style, but here and there I hear another arrangement of something that I can enjoy just as much. So, Lil' Drummer Boy was surprisingly my favorite, what a fun arrangement! My other fave is Holiday Shuffle! Nice work, I dig this X-mas album!

I don't know what they were thinking with Paris' debut CD, but THIS IS THE TYPE OF MUSIC PARIS SHOULD MAKE! Her version of 12 Days of Christmas is my favorite NEW Christmas song of the year and my favorite version of the 12 Days of Christmas. If her new CD (next year) will have sound like this, I'm all for it.
