5.0 out of 5 stars Better than All-clad
These are much heavier, heat up quickly, look more elegant, and the pans are a bit deeper, a bit wider, and a bit tougher than our friends the All-clad. The set is about $150 cheaper than All-clad to boot. Great set.

My boyfriend bought a full set of the cookware about a year ago. He was very excited about it even though it was very expensive. He justified the cost by thinking that this set will last for a long time. After using it for about a year, two of the bigger pots developed big cracks like I never seen before! 5.0 out of 5 stars great pots and pans, April 26, 2008
This review is from: Gordon Ramsay by Royal Doulton Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I love these pots and pans - I've had plenty of nonstick over the years and the bottoms always peel, no matter what brand I get. So, I figured I'd try the stainless steel. I've made eggs, bacon, porkchops, baked pasta, etc. The clean up better than the nonstick. I think they are the best - I LOVE them!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 STAR COOKWARE, May 12, 2008
This review is from: Gordon Ramsay by Royal Doulton Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
This cookware is incredible!! Durable, easy to clean and cooks evenly. It is worth every penny. One point to remember when using this cookware: start at a lower temperature because the WHOLE pan heats not just the bottom. If you are a serious cook and like All-Clad, I think you will enjoy The Gordon Ramsay line as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful cookware set!, April 13, 2008
This review is from: Gordon Ramsay by Royal Doulton Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
These are great quality pans: heavy, well constructed, thoughtful design, etc. The handles are great (I am not a fan of the handles on the All-Clad stainless pans that I have). I prefer the stainless steel lids instead of glass lids as they are much easier to clean. The pans are not too big to fit multiple pans on the stove top at one time. I have to agree with the other reviewer, these pans are better than All-Clad- in many ways. I have done a side-by-side comparison, and for me, I prefer the Royal Doulton.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cookware., November 11, 2008
This review is from: Gordon Ramsay by Royal Doulton Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
Pros:
-The pieces are very solid, durable and made from true tri-ply.
-They heat very evenly and quickly, and hold their heat well.
-Easy to clean.
-They look beautiful and elegant.
-Pot/pan handles are solid and remain cool.

Cons:
-price (although comparably they are a good value).

other things:
Each pot/pan comes with a cloth bag. I not sure what to do with them, but if i have to move or travel with them, the bags will sure help. The handles on the lids (not the pans) will require a pot holder or towel when they get hot. The pans are relatively thick, and hold their heat well, meaning you can move something off the burner, and it will get a good amount of carry over from the pan.

First, at the price this is a real serious investment.

Second, it's a genuine value.

I've used the set for about a month and it is all it is cracked up to be.

It heats quickly and evenly, holds heat well. Fits in small spaces. Handles well on the range. Great elevation on the handles. Intelligent design.

It allows me to cook better and quicker. For example... did a simple mustard chicken tonite. (White wine, herbs, dijon, garlic, spread blah, blah.) Went into the pan on the burner, then into the oven for 30 minutes. Came out EVEN. Did a quick deglaze and reduction in the same pan, sauted some califlour in it and it was perfect. All in about 40 minutes from scratch.

With my previous stuff, that would be a three cookware meal... plus the cleanup.

IMHO, it's the same quality as All Clad, but better designed with a sexier look and a tad cheaper.

Ever since I wore out my last set of Kitchenaid pots and pans, I've been looking for something tough to complement my kitchen. With Gordon Ramsey's line of cookware, I feel like Gordon is over my shoulder telling me it's RAW! Sometimes I throw a slice of Wellington at the wall for effect. I swear, every time I flip a burnt piece of salmon I can feel his disdain and disappointment in the handle.

There's no more questioning whether or not my mother's risotto recipe is absolutely crap, when it comes out of these pots I can serve dinner knowing full well that I am culinary Pol Pot, and I should have my chef's knives broken in two.

My boyfriend bought a full set of the cookware about a year ago. He was very excited about it even though it was very expensive. He justified the cost by thinking that this set will last for a long time. After using it for about a year, two of the bigger pots developed big cracks like I never seen before! It is though as the whole frame at the top of the pot cracked and I am pretty sure that this crack will keep on progressing down.

Next, the top black layer (the part on which you put the food) is peeling!! This is totally unacceptable for a frypan in this price range. We are still using it as our cookware is totally made up from the GR cookware but give it another couple of months and the whole top layer of the pan will peel off.

Finally, my biggest issue with the cookware - the lids heat up to the temperature of the rest of the pot and you will burn yourself repeatedly by accidentally touching them. They are also very heavy so i you dont have strong hands and are trying to multitask and flip the lid with one hand be warned, it will tip sideways and burn the inside side of your wrist. Extremely poor design of the lids . . .

It does however do great job cooking the food so for my boyfriend, who is the chef in our kitchen, this set works. Unfortunately I cannot agree with most of other comments here.
