WEDDING VOW IS NEVER AGAIN, June 14, 2002
This review is from: The Royal Golden Wedding (Audio CD)
I have been giving classical music CDs for wedding showers and weddings here in Rolette ND. The Royal Golden wedding Royal Crown Wedding seems appropriate because I visited London Cathedrals, Museums and Castles. Queen Elizabeth just had the 50th Jubilee of her acension to the throne. We should know what English church music is right, especially if you were brought up in the Catholic Latin tradition.
As a Lutheran I always enjoy, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. John Wesley's Blessed Be the God and Father should be in every wedding as should be Mendelssohn's Wedding March.
Jubilate in C by Britten is probably more appropriate to a religious service than music from the movie Wedding Singer. I heard a boy's choir in a Catholic Cathedral in London and find the Westminster Abbey Choir to be very hopeful for a couple who not only will be married but guide Great Britain for more than fifty years.
